For those without a Discover card, this is $49 @ Newegg, plus you can take the Bing CashBack for another $5 off or so.

I think Amazon is going after Newegg

Amazon is cheaper than Newegg a lot of the time nowadays, comparison shopping is a must!

Newegg has improved lately, depending on which warehouse you're talking about. The big problem was always with Newegg's multiple hard drive packaging. I'd order a single drive with confidence.

can someone recommend the filler?

Here you go

item does not qualify for the discover card promotion and I don't see the discount in the cart as well

I already tried bunch of the fillers under a dollar. the problem is which one qualify with the discover card promotion?

Yes, this is a better deal than Newegg, you can save a few bucks plus no 60 day wait for your Cash Back..

thanks op, no tax for me in CA

HOT!

Just bought two of these from Newegg, no CashBack, free ship, CA tax. Total came out to be 108. Amazon has no tax and free ship. I cancelled the Newegg order and went with Amazon.

No more feeling bad about skipping CashBack to get a jump on the deal before item sells out.

This exact HDD was all I wanted this BF.

OOS after I had it in cart!

says in stock Nov 28 and you can still order.
Here's another filler -- WD SATA cable for $2.95 (cheapest I could find on Amazon).

Oh wow I tried "move back to cart" and it went through! Might be alive?

is this good for a gaming rig with i7 975 or SSD is the way to go?

They let some more orders thur but you get a DEC 3-4 delivery date..

my order shows Dec 3-4 delivery estimate and I placed before it went oos-like.

just read that 2 of these on raid 0 is faster than the raptor or ssd

ordered 2 just now
Delivery Estimate: December 2, 2009

Can you post the link to where you found that info? You'll probably be better off with raid 1.

Too bad they put this in expired deals, people are still ordering like crazy on other forums.!

yeah someone wasn't paying attention. they just moved it back.

so, just for clarification... which merchant does a better job w/ packaging -- Amazon or Egg?

in 4 1, thanks op

Amazon reviews mentioned that it's loud when seeking data. anyone uses it and has experience?

just bought one in mid-air thanks to the free AirTran wifi code!

This is better than Newegg for CA because no tax!

I only said it because it was already mentioned on the first page

Thanks OP just got 1, my WalMart Discover gave me the $10 discount

IMO Newegg's hard drive packinging methods are very haphazard at best. Do not even meet manufacturer RMA requirements (at least the dozen or so drives i've received over the years).

I love the Egg but try not to buy hard drives from them anymore, the occasional low prices are really tempting.

Take a look at here for a recent comparison of Amazon vs Newegg shipping.

http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=709868

My drives have arrived in similar condition from Newegg(IE one or more drives wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap that was popped along one side of each drive, sometimes placed on the bottom of the box and packing peanuts thrown on top, sometimes in the middle of the peanuts).

I just cancelled my Newegg order I placed today and will be trying Amazon this time around.

Thanks OP, just canceled my Newegg order and ordered this instead to save a few bucks and avoid the wait for bing cb.

I'm feeling generous today, so here's how you can save another couple bucks if you used Discover -- if your card balance is $1.99 or less when your statement is supposed to come out, they'll credit your account to make the balance $0.

If you don't understand this, don't worry about it. Did you know FW has a finance forum? That's where I normally hang out.

Got 1 even I really don't need it.
