I bought one acer netbook last Sunday at target. $199.99, It is cute, but I can not make the battery work. I can not bear a netbook with AC power only. I returned it. I don't know if this is the common problem of acer netbook.

does anyone have information comparing the following two deals:

1. Walmart Acer 17.3" Laptop w/Dual Core, 4GB, 320GB, Webcam, HDMI, Wireless b/g & N, Win7 $498.97 Shipped!!

2. Staples HP G71-340US Laptop which is $599.

So there is a $100 difference other than the fact that WalMart is online only. Now the key difference appears to be the processor. The Staples has Intel Core2 Due and WalMart has Athlon. How do these two processors compare to each other? Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Guraaf.

Many seem to be using the Passmark cpu benchmark from here for processor comparison:
http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php

AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-65 1082
Intel Core2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20GHz 1527
So the Intel is quite a bit better.

The video card of the WalMart deal is a tad better based on rankings here:

Is that a good deal for the RCA 42" 1080P LCD? Is that a good TV? I am having trouble finding any reviews for it.

BB has the acer 20" for 79.99 tomorrow which owns the 19 @ 100
