Unable to add to cart. Obviously a fluke.

why would you pay $800 for a laptop anyway? are you living in the past?

Can only order for pickup locally... They may not honor online pickup at local stores on BF. Just sayin'.

FYI... NO Firewire port on this, which is silly. That is a major flaw in my book. Unlike clunky Windows recovery software that needs to boot from the C Drive, with Firewire you can boot off an external drive, repair your HD, do a complete or partial restoration, or recover files by using the Mac as an external hard drive when connected to another Mac. Not so with USB.

Plus, there's no Express slot, so you cannot add FW functionality, period.

Amazonian description and reviews here.

Local P/U only but hot if u want one!

Because Apple brainwashed many people with their so called "elegance."

I'm not a hyper Mac apologist by any means, but let's get real -- the Mac OS is far superior to Windows Vista, 7, whatever the latest iteration is. That's coming from someone who does troubleshooting on the latter all the time and gets tons of inside scoop from a friend who's worked at Microsoft for the better part of 10 years. Sure, for the corporate masses, Windows and its cheap availability, accessible and clunkiness will do...

Mac OS is not about elegance and marketing, it's just superior, plain and simple.

I like Win 7 better than OSX and would never pay $800 for a laptop, but it's hard to argue with the unibody construction, exceptional build quality, and insane battery life on the new models.

Except when it dies, then you're really SOL compared to if you owned a PC.

I got in on this deal and this includes an extra 5% off as well as a 49.99 Pixma MP560 and I still think it ranks as one of the best buys. And no I do not think Mac OS is far superior to Win 7 at all and prefer the latter. However I *do* like that I can run both especially if you factor in the cost that you can get Win 7 for cheap in various ways (I got ultimate for free as a developer), you essentially have excellent hardware and the option to run two excellent OS's. If you consider resale value it actually makes this deal cheaper than even the best PC equivalent BF deal you can show me because if you keep it in good shape after 3 years, you can essentially say you paid 90-125 bucks a year to use it after resale. Try to do the same with similar PC hardware and build.

This is an age old argument however but I tend to take a neutral stance and hate both Mac fanatics, as well as those on polar opposite. Same thing if you buy a Kia vs Honda/Toyota, you can argue value for the money all you want, but at the end of the day resale value matters.

Well, been using OS for over 10 years (Windows for 15) and I count on one hand the number of times the OS "died." As far as Windows, I'd need a ticker to track the number of blue screens I've encountered.
