Have been shopping around for the 52XBR9 for quite some time now. Barring the price drop about 3 weeks ago on Amazon to about 1750, this seems solid around the 2000 mark with stiff resistance to fall below that....given that this is the case and that the lowest retail price for BDV E500W is about 650 (somewhere online), the total comes to 2650 and Sony style offers this for 2249 as a bundle package.

I am thinking of going ahead and pulling the trigger, but for the following concerns:

1. only one HDMI port on the blu-ray receiver
2. lack of wireless on the receiver meaning inability to stream from my PC...

with the united mileage plus card, it gets about 4500 Miles...pretty darn good I would think...

Stiff resistance on consumer goods with a recent price 20% below the "special" price? Not quite. Resistance is now at $1750.

Could you let me know where you found the 1750...I wouldnt want an "Open Box" item or go through some 'not-so-trustworthy-Sony-dealers'...

i found the 52xbr9 from pricegrabber at 1700 from justbuyelectronics.com

Free shipping and no tax.

with the bdve500 though you can route your video via hdmi to all the different components and use a digital coax to connect the audio, the bdve500 is pretty good like that, i'm just not too happy with the s-air and it's range and quality limitations.
