I bought this the last time around (about 2-3 weeks ago) and so far I love it! I've used it about 8 times already and my only regret today was that I didn't have two! I'm buying another ~ thanks OP!

Kiser,

ordered my first one today. can you give us some ideas what you've been cooking in it? looking for suggestions, thanks.

Any kind of casserole dish. Chili is great, you can sear meat right on the stovetop and move to the oven. Macaroni and cheese, any kind of pasta dish. Really any number of things.

thx sanjoelo, I'm thinking along the lines of a london broil/brisket/pot roast type dish. The Chili sounds good!

Bet this would be good for chicken cacciatore too.

Awesome, thanks OP!

Mr. Cheap, look up some recipes for Le Crueset (spelling?). This is essentially the same thing, so I'm sure you can get some good ideas there.

This is a good deal on this, but if I buy anymore cookware, I'm going to have to expand my kitchen!

dutch overn peach cobbler is best cooked in this

Used to use the lodge outside on the coals. Cleanup is 10000 percent easier.

1 quart bottled peaches (the cans of peaches in heavy syrup also work
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick butter
1 sprinkle of cinnamon

emty the bottle of peaches into the pan
pour the dry cake mix on top of the peach/liquid mixture
place slices of butter on top of the dry mix
sprinkle a little cinnamon

half hour at 350

sugar coma in a half hour.

i realize that any good woodbadge trained scouter would know this recipe by heart, but most people wanting this can not sing back to gilwell

THis is ceramic coated on the inside also I assume? It's not raw cast iron?

Cook's Illustrated rated this one on top for inexpensive enameled cast iron dutch ovens. Great find, OP.

Correct. However, the top "lip" is raw cast iron, so you'll need to occasionally rub some vegetable oil or Crisco on that part.
