THANKS MC! Got this deal last year for my grandmother, and I was hoping it'd come around again.

I read somewhere that they were going to quit the print version. Lack of advertizers. I'd be careful.

rated:

Eh. If they do, the most I'll be out is $5. Thanks, though, for the heads up.

All the more reason to subscribe. That's a really good mag, I'd hate to see it go out of print.

RD not going out of print...but just reduced frequency from 12 issues/year to 10

In for a couple of subs. Thanks OP.
Plenty of decent reading for $5.

Got one to show a little bit support for great magazine.

when i clicked the LARGE PRINT, price changed: Please send a one-year subscription (10 issues total) of Reader's Digest Large Print Edition for just $27.96, plus sales tax, if any to the recipient specified above. So I guess I will have to skip this great offer.

10-issue gift of Reader's Digest for just $5 each

Am I reading this wrong? Is it $5/issue or /subscription?

Actually, anyone who has been a long time subscriber has already watched this magazine go downhill over the past several years - ever since the family that started it up sold it. I've been reading loads of old issues from the 1960's, and although the photo quality was poor, and everything is dated, each issue is still far superior to the new ones.

The problem is not "lack of advertisers" It is:

A) too few subscribers (advertisers pay per eyeball)

B) too many advertisements/not enough decent things to read (driving away subscribers)

C) focus has become "celebrity of the month", rather than well written articles

Anyone have others?

In that case I will buy another subscription for $5. Its a great magazine and I do not want to see print version dieing off.

Having problems with order this. Keep getting error messages - Promotion key cannot be found for this offer

Anyone else having this problem?

rated:

I did it this morning - reupping the two I got last year and it worked just fine. Thanks - great deal and much better than the offers they've been inundating me with to renew!

WARNING - I had an issue ordering this (ordered last year no problem). I ordered just one gift, when I clicked through to purchase, it showed I ordered 10 gifts, one to my recipient, and the other 9 to my billing address. I clicked back and I DID NOT have anything else selected, just one address to send to.

Gotta call RD customer service now to clear this up.
