Don't know if their self-bricking "feature" has been fixed yet with the latest bios. If you want to buy this, please do your own research into recent development of this. They did issue a new firmware, but don't know if it fixed the issue for good. Maybe it's not happening anymore, maybe it is.... but do read further into it first. I got hit hard a while back by this problem in a few of these drives and have since moved to WD drives.

My local Fry's (Manhattan Beach) was out of stock. I stopped at a nearyby Best Buy, and they matched the Fry's price.

I am not sure if those Seagate drives are good for RAID or not as the reviews were not so kind for it, seemed due to the timing delay from the drive. I got the 4 Hitachi version from Fry's last week for the same price for my SS-4200E server. For non RAID application they are fine.
