Not LCD, but Bestbuy has the well rated Panasonic Viera TC-P65S1 plasma on sale for $2200 here.
If have Panasonic EPP, it's available for under $2300 shipped. Expecting one from them, but it's on backorder.
There are different levels of EPP discounts. If you got an account from one of those EPP sign up links posted here a while back (assuming they didn't cancel your account after they identified the leak), the discount is not that great from those. If you know someone with direct access (they can order for you) the 65" S1 is slightly more than the MSRP of the 50" S1 right now after the add'l $500 instant off, mine was just delivered. The 58" S1 is less than the MSRP of the 42" S1!! These are the only two models that have the add'l $500, ends this month, currently on backorder, assuming they get any more in. $150 for shipping, but you (or the person with direct access ordering for you) can finagle your way out of it by calling.

Guys, I have been meaning to post this deal but have been sick. Frys has(d) the 42 inch LG LH50 for $598 on sale from $999. An amazing set at an amazing price. Check your store inventory as might be sold out.

Adding START and END dates to your deals - Easier to identify NEW deals - How OLD the deal is - How LONG the deal lasted, etc...
Moving expired deals into the thread into a post like the one I'm quoting (like you did once) - for future price / vendor reference - for easy specifications reference
Thanks!

I've been holding out too long and now is the time to pull the trigger. I need a TV between $500-800 and I want to buy it now. Any good recommendations?

Thanks for the feedback TakeTheActive! I added a link in the Quick Summary to my thread with all the expired deals, and updated that list to include since expired deals. I will have more info coming about start and ends dates soon!
Whats the take on the VA370M, is it worthwhile TV? I will jump on it no question for $399 shipped, but it's still $459 ama7on. I'm definitely looking for 37" 1080p for the bedroom, probably mounted pretty high near the ceiling using the FAR mount from the PCcon rebate fiasco last november (rebate just arrived last month), so it needs to have decent viewing angle just in case i want to sit somewhere other than on the bed without adjusting the thing. and being a bedroom the black level better be perfect as it will be viewed mostly in darker than ambient lighting. and of course i want all that with the cheapskates way possible of the FW manner.
Updated post as of 7:20 PM 3/17. I verified prices, coupon codes, and moved a couple of expired deals to thread here.

I still have a chance to get the TC-P46S1 46 inch Panny Plasma at $568 + tax = $616. I haven't seen a price like this for a 1080P plasma anywhere, but I do see overall prices dropping fast. This is Panny's entry level series, and I'm afraid a good deal will come up that would I prefer. However, I also think that as soon as the 2009 inventories are deleted, prices for the new TV's will remain high until later this year... which is too long for me to wait.
The Vizio VO400E 40" 1080p looks interesting at $629.99 (free ship) from Costco http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11505228
I hear it is about $50 less in store.
* 40" 1080p LCD Display * 50,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio * 60 Hz * 6 ms Response Time * 500 cd/m2 Brightness * 3 HDMI Ports
$629.99 (or less in store) with free shipping for this 40" LCD. Comes with 2 year Costco warranty (90 day return), measures 39.24 x 25.32 x 3.91 inches, and weighs 35.94 pounds without stand.
is this thread no longer being updated? I just saw that the last updates to the FP occured a week ago. Pity if it is, since I have been using this thread to assist in my purchase decision...what say you, Logistican?

Updated post as of 2:43 PM 4/1. I verified prices, coupon codes, and edited price changes.
Note:
The Samsung (PN50C450) 50" 720p Plasma HDTV, which has been $719 at a few different sites, is now $694 with free shipping when you use coupon code "LS04TOT25499" for $25 off $499.99+.
with the new spat of 3D TV's coming out, would it make sense to create a spin-off of this thread that deals exclusively with hot 1080p 3D HDTV deals, much like your expired deal thread?

I bought this last month from Dell for $478 (wish I could have got the $399 deal). It is average in my opinion compared to my 46" Samsung 60hz 1080p. Probably not a fair comparison but for the price I'll say it's a decent TV and the best 37" 1080p deal I could find. The viewing angles are average and the color is average. I read one review stating that the VO370M had a much better picture compared to a VA370M even though by most accounts they are supposed to be nearly identical other than response times FWIW.

Is there any great deals on either a Samsung Plasma or LCD 55" or LG for less than $1,000.00?
