Interesting thought, I'd use the $1 even if 3cents didn't work. At $2.50/gal that 3 cents is worth 1.2%, and this is 10% on $10 purchase, 12 cents versus $1 on a $10 purchase.

most likely you have to go to cashier and it states "one per person" This basically means I can't get 5% off by using the gas card (the most will be 2%), but this used on a $10 purchase is better. Enough time for several fill-ups until expiration date.

This is a scam, I just tried it at murphys and the jerk wouldn't honor it. I'm no longer buying gas from them again.

I also had it denied initially when I presented it, with them saying "we don't take printed out coupons." My response was, "it came in my email . . . how else am I supposed to present it?" After discussion with his fellow clerk behind the cigarette shelf, he crumpled it up, threw it in the trash, and gave me a $1 "cash payment" credit.

^^^
I got the same rude treatment but I wasn't given the luxury of a buck to just shut me up. I've already composed an e-mail to corporate about the situation and the store #.

I was able to use this coupon. The clerk said he had never seen this coupon. He wasn't going to accept it, as he first read it and thought it said $10 off a $10 fuel purchase. He wrote down my DL# on the coupon and gave me a $1 customer satisfaction credit. Thanks OP
Positive experience here, the girl in the booth read the coupon carefully, she successfully scanned it and I was good to go. Too bad I was focused too much on the right moment when the price reached $10, so that I pulled the nozzle too fast and I spilled some gas, including on my clothes.

Cheap cleaning
So let me get this right. You saw a girl in a booth, pulled the nozzle too fast, spilled some gas, and got some on your clothes.
