Most of the discounts say "Redemption Instructions: Present Tahoe Card at retail locations to receive promotional discount" So how do we get an actual card?

It looks like you get a free subscription to Freeskier Magazine or Snowboard Magazine upon signup as well.
Thanks. Unfortunately, the Kirkwood ticket (that I'd be most interested in) is $60. The $49 is for junior (13-18yrs old). Still better than full price.

Did you go through OP's link for order tickets? I haven't looked through all of them, but all the ones I looked at simply says: "Order and print E-Lift Tickets online, print out at home and redeem at resort special tickets window." and doesn't mention anything about needing a physical card.

I'm interested in the free rentals and tune-ups. I have lift tickets already.

I had what they are calling the "silver" Tahoe card last year, and it came with 1 free lift ticket usable at either Kirkwood or Sugarbowl, and a bunch of free and discount tune up and rentals. It also let you buy discount lift tix on line. I bought 1 for Homewood, and they didn't ask to see the card when I redeemed the printed coupon. (I didn't do it this year as the free lift ticket was to Dodge Ridge, and I'm not driving that far to ski an unknown place when I live 30 min form Kirkwood and Heavenly) Looks like this "Basic" Tahoe card just gives you access to the discounts on their site. As to Kirkwood, if you click free coupons under the deals drop down menu, the top of the list is "Kirkwood (Jan. 3-15) $49 Coupon!" same page has "Porters Sports - NORTH LAKE TAHOE" FREE friction wax. Or $5 off a ski or snowboard rental; "Lombardi Sports - SAN FRANCISCO" $10 hot wax (regular $15) $5 friction wax (regular $10) and "Tahoe Dave's - NORTH LAKE TAHOE" 10% Off All Ski & Snowboard Rentals & Demos, 10% Off All Ski & Board Repairs & Tune-ups Forgot to mention the Free Subscription too, but it's included.

For the $40 Tahoe card, you use to be able to get a Sugarbowl/Kirkwood lift ticket. It looks like now you only get a Dodge Ridge lift ticket? That's weak.

If you want to stay in Reno, and Ski Mt. Rose, they have good lodging and lift tickets - Bobo's should have decent rental deals. If you want to be at the lake, decide if you want North or South shore. More resorts north, but the casinos are south (which would have the better lodging deals). If they get the generators back up at Kirkwood, you may just want to go there.

There's no actual card!!! When you sign up & create an account with the code, you automatically get the discount. Kinda like an e-membership. No physical card. Hope this helps.

no actual card. the promo code after you sign up is like an e-deal on memberships. Once you log on, it automatically gives you the discount.

You had to buy the GOLD Tahoe Card (same $40 price) at a local retailer to get the kirkwood lift ticket. It's possible some of the local retailers listed, http://www.snowbomb.com/tahoecard/retail.php, have the Gold ones in stock. That info was to be had early on at Sliding On The Cheap - a great discount ski website to bookmark.
Anyway, green for you OP. Having online access to discounts through the season is helpful now that lift tickets are all around $80/day.

Once you sign up, do you get the Dodge Ridge ticket right away? I'm going this weekend, so this seems like an easy way to save a couple bucks... plus with all the deals @ other resorts, the Silver Card seems a steal

I think Tahoe is pretty crappy but it's the best thing within driving distance of where I am now. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and I enjoy skiing up there so much more.
