Ah well, I tried.
Your post is still very helpful. I have started to see a lot of these really, old and crappy 1st gen 'netbooks' being promoted for under $200, but many people don't realize that they are getting something that is several years old and literally slower than even entry level smartphones.
When you consider that current gen netbooks like the Dell Mini 10v can be had for around $200 with specs like Windows 7, 160GB HD, 1-2GB ram and 1.6Ghz Atom processors - it's hard to justify buying these 1st gen models at any price, but I would think they would need to sell for substantially less than $100 for anyone to even consider buying them.
So, while you may not have posted a great deal, if it helps better inform someone who may have bought one, it was definitely worthwhile.

Yah, heartland is another junk seller. I used to get their catalog and would almost fall off the toilet laughing at their computer deals (or any other "deal" they offer).

That's why we have a "deal discussion" thread. It's why we have the "reply" button on Hot Deals posts, too.
Intel Pentium M 512 MB RAM 30 GB hard drive DVD rom 56K modem Internal Wi-Fi 14" TFT LCD screen Windows XP Rechargeable battery pack and AC adapter 2 USB ports Serial Port Parallel port Network card 90-day limited warranty
if we were living in the 80s i would jump on this.. almost pulled the trigger, but i saw somthing with a 750 give hd, core i7, 1 gb video card...this is close by comparison though
I just got an Augen E-Go for 60.00 shipped. Its a great little machine to take to my youth center and let the kids go online without worrying about damage.
It runs Windows CE granted but when kids just need a browser window and sound who cares. Most kids have flash drives now, they carry them in their pockets for files and such. A HD is what they carry with them.
Personally I like these cheap little things. These prices are not hot but the sub netbook is a great little item.

These aren't even 1st-gen netbooks...they are more like -1st-gen netbooks. "1st-gen netbooks" in my mind are the original Eee 700 series...Celeron processor, 7" 800x480 screen, tiny flash HD, etc. While they have a number of flaws over current netbooks, they are WORLDS better than these pieces of junk.
Haha I like how the page says "HUGE 4 GB" with regards to the size of the flash drive. I would bet that the owner of this site has a HUGE 2.25" penis too.

Ugh, this is a WinCE machine, so not an x86 machine, so mostly useless for running any software that didn't come in the box.

I think that op was referring this pc to a first pc for the kids. And I can kinda see the op's point in that if its probably going to get slammed on the floor on more than a couple of (accidental drops) learning curves it would be a lot easier on the parents nerves if it was a slow but only $179 pc rather than that that hot rod $207 or $299 net book. Cause if its a kids first pc its probably going to be rendered useless at some point anyway.
