My local Costco (S. Arlington, TX) had this Vizio for $849-$150 IR = $699. Same price as the lower 120Hz model.

It's also discounted on Costco.com, but the starting price is $949. SV421XVT @ Costco.com

I did a search and found a lower price for a refurb (strike 1) at TigerDirect (strike 2) after Bing CB, but I'd rather pay a little extra to get it locally w/ the Costco 2 year warranty and easy return policy (+3% CB for Executive Membership).

Here's the maufacturer's page for your reference ... SV421XT @ Vizio.com

Can anyone confirm if the B&M price is at all stores? The nearest Costco is 60 miles away and I'd hate to drive there only to find that the price was the same as online?

Also does this TV have PIP. The specs don't mention it but I'm hoping it does. Another thread mentioned that Vizio is one of the few brands to even offer PIP.

Yes on the PIP/POP.

A simple call should answer that question. It's not a price mistake, so there's no reason not to call.

I can confirm the PIP option too (it's under the "Tech Specs" tab on the Vizio page). The User's Manual is available on the Vizio site if you want to double check any other features.

i bought this TV at costco last month for ~850. Its got PIP. really nice set. any idea if i could get them to give me the rebate even after a little over a month? for 699 its a pretty good deal. i thought at 850 it was a little steep, but i was in a hurry as my tv had just died.

you have 90 days to return it, so you can get the difference back. I did this once but the CS Rep was being an ass and ask me to bring the item back. I told him straight up, if I bring the TV back I am getting a new one. Also, unless you want to get stuck with an open box returned TV. I suggest him just give me the difference. And he did.

Of course, I said it in a really nice way.

Get back to costco store immediately and ask for price adjustment.... you got 3 months to return back the set. in worst case you will have to return your set and buy a new one....

If you go by the dates on Costco.com, the $150 discount is only good 'til Feb 7th. Make sure you request your refund before then ...

You technically only have 30 days for the price reduction, but like the other person said, let them know about the open box they will have to deal with and you will be getting a new one.

I want one so bad...anyone want to make a don..... oh never mind. (c:-

I bought the 32" XVT on sale for $450 earlier this month. I like it, but I think it is too small for my room. Started to look at plasma, but I'll have to investigate this too.

EDIT: I will say the component video input and s-video input do not work correctly. Everything plugged in to my component input has a purple hue and the s-video input only shows black and white. Either way this TV will go back. OTA and composite video looks great though. I wish the 42" had LED backlight.

EDIT2: Looks like Sam's beat Costco by a dollar. Link

I like the price/size/spects green op.
240hz
4ms.
I am tempted to buy this tomorrow before work :x

wonder if they carry the 46/47 incher and how much it would cost.

But Costco's extra 1 yr warranty (+ a 3rd year from AMEX) easily makes up for that $1 ...

Would you guys buy the Vizio over this Toshiba?

uyDig.com has the Toshiba Regza 42ZV650U 42" 1080P 240Hz LCD HDTV for $759 - $25 off with coupon code GAMETIME25 = $734 with free shipping.

btw its 120hz.. clearscan 240

Vizio vs Toshiba...

Given the difference in warranty, and I've yet to have a flat panel last 3 years, I would go for the Vizio.

For what it's worth, Vizio was the #1 seller of TVs last year).

Whilst I prefer the picture on my Samsung 46" ($1800), the vizio 36" ($450) we have in the bedroom was much better value for money...

I didn't suggest a purchase at Sam's, just wanted to point out that it's available. Costco is definitely the better deal.

Thanks clunk.

I checked out the manual and went ahead and bought it. Costco warranty + 3rd yr with AMEX cannot be beat.

The only problem is that s-video is not working for whatever reason.

Based on my experience with the 32", that is not a good sign. Does your component input work? Maybe I should pass on Vizio period.

Picked one up today. I've only tried FIOS HD and DVD via HDMI so far, but I'm happy with the performance especially for the price.

Bought the same one at Sams Club for the same price and it is a great tv. Go for it!

yuppers sams club $698 and 47 inch is $997

I can't decide between the 42" XVT and the 42" G10. What are the thoughts here? The Panasonic plasmas look really nice.

Can't decide? Go to AVS Forum and search for opinons and owner comments. Lots of info.

Bought one today. Happy so far. Much better than the 32" Vizio XVT it replaced.

EDIT:

I just noticed the SV422XVT is now available at the Costco website. For $200 less I'll keep what I have for now.

No problems with my first generation xvt (120Hz). I've had it about a year, love it.

is the deal dead?

This is a Great Deal! I'd say it's worth joining Costco for!
