"Denny's is hoping the second time is the charm as it attempts to re-create the success of last year's Grand Slam breakfast giveaway promotion that it advertised during the Super Bowl.
The casual-dining chain will run an ad during Super Bowl XLIV between the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints, announcing that customers can come to participating restaurants on Feb. 9, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for free Grand Slam breakfasts, Nation's Restaurant News reported."

Not sure that I want to do this, but maybe some of you are Denny's fans.

Do they comp the tip too?

Meh, I'm ready to cough up a 1000% tip anyway.

Last yr, was in and out in 2 minutes, as just got a raincheck. wasn't gonna wait in line for 40min just to sit down. Cam back at my leisure. Their new burgers are great.

NANNERPUSS!!!

I can't imagine the animals you'd have to fight to get in there for this.

Every bum in town is looking for the bus route to Denny's, pass.

I actually like Denny's, but I can't imagine what the crowds will be like. Thanks OP.

Forget the free breakfast, I'm bringing popcorn. It will be great people watching.

"In honor of the mother of the octuplets, Denny’s is offering a new breakfast meal: The Octo-Slam.

You get fourteen eggs, no sausage, and the guy next to you has to pay the bill."

Lines were insane last year when they did this. Dennys got tons of publicity from it, as every TV news program & newspaper ran stories about the massive lines. And the waitresses mostly got stiffed on tips, and sometimes also on the check for whatever beverage the freeloaders ordered ("Uhhmmm, I thought it was free, yo?").

Best plan is to get a raincheck, as mentioned above.

Don't bother going unless you're on your day off or unemployed, lines are insane and there were cops for crowd control. We didn't bother going last time when we saw it was wrapped around the building...

Can I order for a To-Go...?

Really? Denny's? They have ketchup and mustard stains on every thing. Including the once used to be pretty light hanging over the table. The flys are waiting to attack the syrup everywhere.
People really eat there?

They give out rainchecks so if its a long wait ask for one! Thats what we did last year and came back about a month later and had free breakfast!

Last year, I took my wife and son. She and he shared one and I got a to go box for the third. A couple guys at work tore threw it It took less than 30 mins wait for a free meal for my family and enough takeout for two guys at work. If Denny's had better help at my local locaiton, I would eat there more. The food is decent and reasonably priced, but it's not always prepared well and the service sucks 90% of the time. Giving the food away once a year isn't going to make me (or most anyone for that matter) a loyal customer.

Now if only a few hundred other places would do this, eating out would be easily affordable

I went last year, I am going again.

FREE food

I thought Denny's handled this very well last year! KFC should take notes.

Is this the Grand Slam menu ? Wife and daughter are vegetarians and I was wondering if they have a choice..

Grand Slam Menu

yup. go in btwn 6am-2pm for the regular freebie, then go back after 6pm or whatever for your bday freebie.

I wonder how many Denny's servers are calling in sick on Tuesday.

Have fun wasting gas and waiting in line for a long time to "save" just a few bucks.

Do we just need to go or need any printout?
Thanks.

Thanks.
You just need something to read or do while you are killing time for the long wait.

Your 8 year-old wants to wake up at 4 for a free Denny's breakfast? Send that kid to fatwallet finance!

Great Deal. But when I used to go Denny's, I always felt like crap afterwards, doesn't happen at IHOP, go figure.

IHOP is crap. Dennys over IHOP anyday.

We only have one Denny's in the Memphis area and a free breakfast is not worth getting robbed over.

Yes, because if I am going to rob someone I'm going to pick one of the 60 witnesses waiting in line at 6AM at Denny's for a FREE breakfast.

Memphis is bigger than one Denny's.

Thanks for the reminder! Just got back from getting our Grand Slams in Mt. Laurel, NJ. Only had a 10-15 min wait in line. After my 2 boys got their chocolate milk, our bill was $2.19. YAY!
