I don't know why he was given red. This is the lowest price Amazon has sold this for according to: http://www.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B000LEXR0K And with the 4 for 3 promotion, it is even cheaper. Maybe not a hot deal, but a deal none the less, imo.
Interesting design, but if you don't need both the cast iron + skillet in one, you can get a plain 5Q Lodge Dutch oven for only $24.29. Personally I'm looking for a good deal on an enameled cast iron DO.

check Williams-Sonoma - they had a deal on 4qt le creuset - dont remember what it was - but ~50% off or so! good luck!
Among other things, cast iron dutch ovens do a surprisingly decent job baking bread. Learn to make a fairly foolproof and pretty respectable loaf of bread using this recipe (or a variation) and save yourself some extra dough.

Cook's Illustrated says get this one. It's just as good as the Le Creuset, and it's only $55.
Or get it here if you're like me and don't shop at Wally-Mart.
