I have to buy glasses for the kids so you know what that means - have a spare on hand. This worked out for me since I'm buy 2x for one child and getting the 3rd one for free (including lense) for the 2nd child to use as spare. Use "glassyeyes" code for another 10% off. shipping was $9.99 for me for the 3 pairs which is decent.

BTW: googgles4u.com is no longer cheap, they now charge $20 for basic lense and this is how ended up here.

Not familiar with them. How fast do you get the glasses?
thanks for the post.

Generally all these online glasses shops will take 1-2 weeks for your order to arrive.

i'm curious about the quality... anyone have prior experience with them?

I purchased 3 pair last year...2 distance vision only, tinted for sunglasses.

3rd pair was free.....reading only prescription.

All were much better than I ever expected.

I would say all the qualities between these online vendors are the same. Personally, I have never had glasses that lasted more than 1 year. Either I get new prescriptions and I get frames w/ it. I'm not sure if Global includes the free tool kit but Goggle4u.com did for me.

Goggles4u.com hasn't changed... still just $29.99 for frame and lenses, + 10% repeat customer discount and free shipping

Not true. Some are based in the USA (or in Canada near the border) and will deliver your glasses in less than a week. Others are based in mainland China and usually take 3-5 weeks for delivery.

The lenses kills the deal, esp. with non-glare lenses. Go to Zenni Optical where prices are more reasonable with $5 shipping for as many glasses you want!

I think there is a lot of variety of frame styles and frame quality from company to company. Some of the mainland China companies sell only low-end frames, but others do have a selection of better quality frames. Lens quality can vary, too, especially for the fancier lenses like high indexes or progressives and photocromatics (light sensitive sunglasses).
