Get there for 39 dollars, get comped at the venetian every time I go = cheap

Fly cheap then stay cheap

The Fri/Sun blackout does make it a little bit cold for a weekend getaway, but otherwise an awesome deal if you have the need to go somewhere during the week. Getting from DC to Boston for $39 each way is a fantastic deal. Thanks!

Sounds good, but how much are you spending to get comped every time!?!?

Not nearly enough to get comped... I think a pit boss put in too many zeros at some point, because apparently I have a standing offer to get 4 nights free at a time anytime I go to vegas

. $39
+ $ 3.70 takeoff
+ $3.70 landing
+ $ 9 (PFC)
+ $ 5 Security Fee
------
$60.40 one way IF you can find a flight that fits.

every airline is REQUIRED BY LAW to charge these fees, get a clue.

thanks angryblues

Very nice, OP! Just under $100 (with all fees) from Providence to Philly in the spring.

Hey...I am looking at the same trip to visit a friend in Philly this spring!

for those redding, book any advertised special like this on any airline and see what your final fare is. When JetBlue or American have their deals, none of those advertised fares include all airport taxes. these are not charges unique to Southwest.

Thanks OP. I just got $20 credit on a flight I booked on Sunday.
From southwest.com home page, click on Travel Tools, then click on Change Air Reservation.
Select the reservation using Confirmation number and name.
Choose the $39 flight and go through confirmation process. Have 1 year to use the credit on a future flight.

For those not in the know, the $39 includes the $3.70 takeoff/landing charge. All Southwest fares as seen online include that charge. A booked round-trip comes to $99 give or take (example Vegas to LA). Anyone who reds the OP can drive themselves the 500 miles. Green.

well, the thursday depature that i was looking at had only one $39 fare out of 10 times. good deal if you can find a fare that works with your schedule!

FYI - other airlines are matching some of the prices (i.e. US Airways and JetBlue) in case their flights work better.

+ $0 First and Second Checked Bag Fee.

Cheapest SF Bay area to LA flights that I've seen in quite a while. Total RT comes to $94.90 if flying on Mon-Thurs and Sat.

Good deal, though for some short hops it winds up being faster/easier to just drive.

...and you can keep your 1L bottle of water that way

Still, if you need to get away somewhere 450 miles away it's a sweet deal.

Good deal! I had been waiting for SWA to do this again. I got two roudtrip tickets from Raleigh/Durham to Jacksonville for $245 minus a credit I had for $145 bringing it down to $100 the two of us. Jacksonville is only a 2-hr drive to Orlando. We'll be doing volunteer work to get two free admissions to Disney. Not a bad deal for a Spring getaway!

My main problem with that is if you take a car that gets 30mpg highway on a road trip 500 miles it is like 17 gallons of gas which is like $51 dollars (at 3 dollars per gallon).

Basically its not worth it unless:
A.) Going alone (no one to split gas money with)
B.) Don't have a car you can take on a road trip
C.) Really hate long drives

You forget the value of the 4 extra hours of your time, the wear on your car, and the higher likelihood of injuring yourself or others by driving.

at least it's not like some people selling items on eBay for dirt cheap, and then tacks on $69 s/h fee?

thanks OP! 2 round trip ticks from Columbus,Ohio to New York City (all $39 flights)

Base Fare $145.12
+ Excise Taxes $10.88
Advertised Fare $156.00
+ Segment Fee $29.60
+ Passenger Facility Fee $36.00
+ Security Fee1 $20.00

Total Payment: $241.60

Security Fee is the government-
imposed September 11th Security Fee.
