A waiting period (of up to 60 days) applies to payout. I understand that I will not be eligible for CashBack savings if this box is unchecked."
Reston, VA (Vocus/PRWEB ) February 22, 2010 -- Wirefly (www.wirefly.com), the Internet’s leading authorized retailer of cell phones and plans, today announced that for a limited time only, customers can receive $100 Bing CashBack on every cell phone purchased. never EVER use Wirefly... Simplexity bought Inphonic (Wirefly) http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/arcmessageview.php?catid=24&thre... http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/arcmessageview.php?catid=18&thre... In case you have outstanding rebates with InPhonic/wirefly etc: On November 8, 2007, the sponsor of this rebate, InPhonic, Inc. filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the S Bankruptcy Code.... These are stupid companies that get a new name when they file bankruptcy over and over again running off with the profits and rebates etc. Then the stupid laws in america allow them to start again.
Looks like they're giving out bonuses again with money taken from others robbed of rebates... and make sure you give them ALL your personal information. I wouldn't have one of their phones if they PAID ME to have it. Buyer beware, as always.

There's a big flaw in this warning. This is a Bing CashBack reward, not a Wirefly reward. Two totally different processes and entities.
I was scammed by Wirefly a few years ago. They refused to pay a $200 rebate, even though I sent all my paperwork twice and they admitted that they received it. I filed a complaint with the state attorney general and they did finally pay up (after way to much effort on my part).
Fortunately, the new Wirefly no longer does rebates, probably because of a legal settlement with multiple AGs. Bing is probably more reliable than direct rebates from Wirefly, but Microsoft does not have a great customer service reputation, either.
I'm not calling for a boycott of Wirefly, but just be very suspicious and careful when dealing with them. Don't be afraid to file complaints if your Cash Back doesn't appear promptly. Complaints on the record help both you and future consumers as well.
Some time in December, wirefly had a Motorola for $30, with $50 bing CashBack. I received all three orders (different addresses) promptly, and all three cashbacks last week.
I just recieved my wirefly order last week for ATT. Had a 4 line family plan with a Samsung Mythic, LG Xenon, Pantech Something, and Nokia something. All phones were originally free during checkout but they called me and said I had to pay $50 for the Mythic. I still haven't received my $200 in BCB and they say they have escalated the claim to upper management. But the phones arrived last week and were all brand new with the correct numbers and plans.
I have had good experience with Wirefly. I bought four phones a month ago and Bing Cash Back showed up with no problems. Just be sure not to make changes to your account because they have their own terms and conditions on top of what Verizon imposes.
Every time I see Wirefly, I think Firefly, then I saw the word "back" and I freaked out, then realized it's never going to happen, and became sad once again...

Wow, I was scammed the same way. I had something like 60 days to send in my rebate. I didn't even get my phone until 45 days later. Then it didn't have the necessary paperwork (it's been a while but I remember they made us submit a TON of paperwork. I had to call T-Mobile and wait for them to send paperwork in the mail (first TWO bills if I remember right). By the time I got the two bills I missed the deadline because the date fell on a Sunday, I submitted on Monday. The whole process was designed to make it impossible for people to complete their rebate offers in time. Screw them.
I have a T-Mobile no-contract 1500 min family plan. I guess, I wouldn't mind getting back into the contract on that plan if I could get 5 new phones and get paid in the process. Anyone here done that?
I've considered TD plus bing being the worst, and yet here comes the kicker.
wirefly plus bing. just priceless worst combo.
Bing continues go down the worst possible way to dig themselves into deeper crap.

Never trust wirefly. Couple of years back, I bought motorola razor phone for which I was supposed to get full money refund in the form of mail in rebates. They are very very good in denying mail in rebates. I hate them. Inspite of submitting required documentation, they denied the claim. Its very tough to follow with them. For past decade I almost got all mail in rebates with other companies...but wirefly sucks..
It's amazing how much bad experiences there are about that company. I do agree that almost everything being stated about them that occured a couple of years ago is true. However, I think the original comapany with its original owners filed for bankruptcy and may not be there any more. It seems to me when I go to Target, WalMart and other reputable merchants websites to buy a cell phone service that Wirefly is embeded indirectly in their website. In other words, if you want ot buy a phone through Target, the page appears to be a Wirefly page even though it has Target logos. That being said, I am thinking that these guys now are too big to be treating people like they did a couple of years ago. I did have excellent experience with them and have had not issues on my January order. They also seem to have representatives here on the Fatwallet forums sending private messages to dissatisfied customers to get their issues resolved. I really think that they will be ok if you order from them.
for unlocked phone or phones without contracts it will allow you to use the $100 bing promotion to purchase a phone as long as the phone is over $99.00. It states in the terms that anything under that amount the bing is not eligible.
seems you have to call to order an unlocked phone. will it be eligible for BCB? Also the T&C is confused:
"Bing CashBack applies to all phones purchased with a service plan; Bing CashBack does not apply to accessories, prepaid phones, or to phones without a service plan that are priced below $99.99."
not clearly state that BCB will apply to phones without a service plan over $99.99

Seems that everyone's problem with wirefly is its rebates and most phones don't have a rebate. Bing is offering the $100 Cash Back so if the phone does not have a rebate is wirefly a good buy?
How do you get the Bing Cash Back to apply? I'm signed into my BCB account and I clicked the link in the first post but don't see the Cash Back logo for wirefly.com. I don't see anything where it indicates that the BCB will apply. Any help would appreciated. Thanks!

search bing for 'wirefly' without the single quotes. When I clicked through the ad (turn off adblock software) a huge Bing logo was up top. There was also a checkbox to check (it was checked by default for me) at the end of the checkout process. It was there for me on a no contract phone that I picked at random just to see what the checkout process was like.

I was also scammed by Wirefly a few yrs ago. I had sent the paperwork, kept getting emails that my rebate was being "processed" but in the end they went bankrupt and all I got was a settlement credit to use in their store.
Damn! I pulled the trigger last week on 2 phones with only $50 CB per phone. CB is showing as pending in my account. No MIR with that order, but I have previously received MIR through wirefly with no problems.
This is Terry from Wirefly. I will try to answer your questions. Please let me know if you have others.

not clearly state that BCB will apply to phones without a service plan over $99.99 I'll state it here. BingCashback will apply to your purchase of any phone without a service plan priced over $99.99. We are now sold out of unlocked phones, but there are many locked phones available without a service plan priced as low as $149.99, and you can order all of them online. When viewing any phone, just click "replacement phone/no contract" to see the no contract price.

The CashBack here is paid directly by Bing and does not require any rebate submission. Just order via the BingCashback link.

chowpt said: Would I still be able to get $100 back if I get from [the Wirefly store at Target.com]No. You must purchase in a single online session that begins at Bing Search (LINK). This does not point to The Wirefly store at Target, but rest assured it is the same company, same pricing, same 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Does anyone know if you have to be eligible for an upgrade at the time you order or if there is some kind of grace period (like you just need to activate with Verizon within 15 days or something)? My girlfriend is eligible for an upgrade within the next couple of weeks, but she'd like to get in on this deal if possible.
EDIT: Also is this like Verizon's new every two thing...or do you have to be totally out of contract to qualify as an upgrade?
Topspin14m said: Does anyone know if you have to be eligible for an upgrade at the time you order or if there is some kind of grace period (like you just need to activate with Verizon within 15 days or something)? You must be upgrade-eligible at the time you place your order. For some people, that means 2 full years into your contract. For others, Verizon lets you upgrade earlier. It depends on your plan and your billing history. You can check your upgrade eligibility by logging into your Verizon account or by calling Verizon and asking.
I've looked at wirefly a number of times for upgrading the primary line on a family plan... What's weird to me is how I have to go through all of the upgraded plan options and plan info for an upgrade.. If I choose my plan as a family plan, it acts like it's a new plan and makes me select two phones.. If I delete one, it takes me back to a single line plan... Makes me hesitant because of my current family plan setup and discounts I get.. I'd be worried soemthing would get hosed up in the upgrade and I'd never get back to where I am now...
My suggestion to you if you shop from Wirefly. Document every damn call you make to them; have a copy of every paper you send them or from them. I did it once and the rebate was hard to get. I called them many times, scaned all the doc I sent them and detailed doc on the calls. The replied was they lost my record. Repeated above steps and finally got my $100 back. Brother-in-law was in the same boat except he didn't have all the detail calls and paper, he lost his $300 rebates. For that much work, $100 was not a good deal at all. Easier to save it by reading more from FW.
