Out of all the perfect transactions from shopping @ SonyStyle, I never once went to resellerratings to post a positive review.
Not saying the ratings are worthless and they do provide some insight but it would be foolish and even ignorant to draw conclusions upon a small sample set that is predisposed to being bias (people who feel wrong are more wont to complain than people who have a perfect transaction).
Just be sure to check your statements with chase. I got caught in one of their now illegal plans to pretty much make you pay double. As with any of these cards, please keep a head up.
I do have to agree that unfortunately people tend to review more when they have a bad experience than if they have a good one.
I ordered 3 pairs refurb headphones through there with no issues at all not too long ago. They were in excellent shape and didnt look like they were used.
The only reason I could see giving them a bad seller rating would be that their normal prices arent that great but then why would you order anything unless it was a good deal?
I had never bought anything from Sony Style before, but the 20% off refurbished computers caught my interest. I ordered a refurbished laptop on 4/9 that said "available shipping date 4/9". On 4/12, the shipping date became 4/12. When it did not ship the following day I called customer service and they informed me that it was back ordered?!? Since refurbished computers require a flawed original production computer, it is not really possible to backorder a refurbished computer. When I pointed that out, they put me on hold to check with their manager and when they came back they told me that the laptop was actually misplaced in their warehouse. They charged my credit card but refused to give me an expected shipment date. Since its being "processed", they also said they can't cancel my order. Since all of the mistakes have been on their part, I asked politely for complementary expedited shipping, and once again, they said they could not modify the order since it was already in the processing phase. Today is 4/16, SonyStyle.com still shows my ship date as 4/12, and customer service still refuses to give me a realistic shipment date. I think they are actually striving to have the worst customer service. In the last 4 years I have bought one desktop and one laptop; both were refurbished through Dell and I had zero problems with the ordering process or the computers themselves. If the Sony laptop arrives with any flaws at all, I don't see myself ever buying another Sony product again.
