The only downside I see is that it is Socket 775. So don't know the future upgrade potential. The energy consumption is probably higher than the i7's. But a lot of performance for the money with ASUS/Corsair/EVGA/Hitachi quality.

OK deal if you need help picking out components. I honestly think you could put together something as good or better for about $200 less, especially if you have Fry's or by taking advantage of Newegg combos. Also the 5770 is close enough in price that I wouldn't get a GT250.

Not sure about the "$200 less" part, if you do not have a Fry's nearby. However for a bit more money, you could get i7-920 from Microcenter for $200 and get the rest from Newegg/ZZF etc, for a better and future-proof system.
