There are reputable authorized resellers listing the new Canon Rebel T2i DSLR with 18-55mm IS lens on eBay for $899 with free shipping (I ordered mine from "norman camera", an authorized dealer in Michigan). Bing offers 8% CashBack on eBay "buy it now" purchases, and eBay gives 2% back in the form of "eBay bucks".

So it's possible to get the T2i kit for the equivalent of $809 after those cashbacks trickle through the system. If, like me, you already have the 18-55mm IS lens and plan to sell the new unopened lens from the kit on eBay, you might recoup another $85-90 from the purchase. It seems like no reseller is yet shipping the body alone, just the kit.

So using Bing (I searched for the keyword "ram" to get the CashBack link) and eBay you can either end up with the kit for $809 or the T2i body alone (after you sell the lens) for $719-729. That's the best price I can find right now.

Interesting. I can't find this post by searching the Hot Deals forum for "T2i" or "Canon Rebel T2i", and as far as I can tell it didn't show up within the hot deals forum topic list. I have to find it under 'my subscriptions'. I wonder if this topic has somehow been orphaned and is hidden in the bowels of a database.

seems so, had the same issue searching for it myself

I just found this topic by searching for t2i
Using Bing on eBay is rather obvious, but I doubt better deals are to be seen any time soon on this just released model.

Yeah, Bing is an obvious way to go. The only reason I posted it was to point out that there are legit authorized resellers offering the camera kit at MSRP on Bing, and because I don't see any better deal at the moment.

Seems there sold out most everywhere... Anyone know where I can find one?

Adorama just put some up on eBay - item number 320507419433

I bought one at Costco yesterday, I think it was 859 for the kit. Personally, with a purchase like this I think paying an extra 50 bucks for Costco's return policy is totally worth it. Also, Ihave been waiting for Costco to get this Camera. Around here, there was only one Costco out of four that got any T2I's, and they only had six. By the time I got there (it was a three hour drive) they only had three left They had just gotten them in that morning.
