I posted this over at that other deals forum, too, and was surprised it didn't make it over here after several hours and a few thousand views, so now I'll post it here, too. Maybe tighten up the language a little... Use the keyword "motherboard" for 15% Bing CB at TigerDirect. There you'll find the WD15EARS for $99.99, $84.99 after CashBack, with free shipping for $100 or more. Santiagoanders at that other forum provided this cheap filler idea for FS. Better to go through Bing to get the CashBack, but if you prefer to go straight to TigerDirect here's a link to the product there. Happy shopping.
Now for my plea: can anyone advise me on whether this is good for a 4 disk RAID-5? If not, what's better? Replies and PMs welcomed, even begged for.
I am pretty sure the green drives are not recommended for RAID (something with the error timeouts or something). Since I don't RAID at home I didn't pay attention. Also for those who use XP/Linux this is an advanced format drive which means it was 4096 byte sectors versus 512 bytes sectors. This can cause complications when you try to use these drives with those OSes. This is a great price but I'll pass because I use Linux and I am not ready to hassle with this yet.
My understanding is the error timeouts on recent green drives (1.5TB, 2.0TB) are dropped to 8 seconds from 30 seconds and so they are better for RAID than previous drives.

These drives are not designed for hardware raid. You want to get the RE3 drives for that. You can definitely do software raid on these. But, i am thinking you are not using UNIX. So, software raid is not option since windows and mac are not reliable with their soft raids.

Great information for me; if I am using a NAS with software RAID it should work as you describe, yes? Or is that a whole different animal...?

TD is only 8.3% now on Bing. That's how TD do business: lower the price, less discount; more discount, higher the price.

TD + BCB is a scam. I'm still waiting for my BCB from last purchase. I had everything screen shot but it's not helping my BCB back. The screen shots clearly showed that I earned $17 BCB. What a joke! Leave TD alone.

Did Bing CashBack change recently? When I clicked the link of CircuitCity from Bing.com, it sent me to CircuitCity directly without inputing my Bing.com account. Without typing in my account information, how can I earn CashBack?

You will keep seeing the bing CashBack amount next to the total for your purchase, until you complete the purchase. Once the purchase is complete, there is a button to claim your CashBack which will prompt you to log into your CashBack account.
I got my Bing CashBack from a purchase I made from TigerDirect at 15% Bing CashBack. Total CashBack came out to be around $25, popped up in my pending account within a few minutes, and 60 days later, I got my CashBack, just like they said I would. Maybe some of you are expecting immediate CashBack? It does take nearly two months to get it (clearly stated in conditions).
