I have no clue if this is just a local Best Buy thing or if it's national, but when I ran over to my local BB (it is in 45426 zip code) they had 2 of the XFX Radeon 4890s on clearance for $125.99. I snagged both but ended up taking one back because my mobo & power supplies would both need upgraded to handle the cards.
Fantastic deal on the card, IMO.
I'm having a hard time finding much in the way of reviews for the XFX 4890. Not sure why, but the few I've seen have been comparing it roughly to the 5850, just doesn't have the 3 monitor support & DX11 support.. but for 1/2 the price, still an incredible deal, if you can find one.
Sorry I'm short on details. @ Work now, will try to find the SKU/UPC when I get home if anyone needs that info.. it doesn't look like the thing is showing up on BB's website right now anyhow, as I've been unsuccessful @ finding it.

Thanks OP for this new price info. It has been on clearance sale at $149.99 for a while (posted on SD). Looks like BB starts another round of discount on this item. $125 is really a good deal for this decent card. If you don't care DX11 very much, this is the best card you can get with such low price.
I have jumped the $84.99 4850 last month. 4890 is more powerful than 4850, but mine can handle Starcraft2 flawlessly. So no need/budget for another one. Again, $125 is a good deal. Thanks OP for sharing the info.
A very good card if you can find it at this price. I got two from Newegg for $155AR. Don't remember the other 3DMarks but 73800 in 2003 using Crossfire nothing overclocked. Two of these are faster than a 5870 for $150 less. It has been one of the preferred options on Toms graphics card list for months before generally becoming unavailable. I am able to run a AMD 940 with two of these and 4770 on a 730 watt power supply running FAH. My KillA Watt P3 says I am running 560 watts. They did jump up to about 620 running the 3DMark benchmarks. So I would think that a 650 watt PS would be sufficient IF the 12V rails are adequate.
edit: I just noticed there are two sku for ati 4890 HD-489X-ZSFR | SKU: 9566025 HD-489A-ZDF7 | SKU: 9279826 which one would it be
It's the square shaped box: Model number: HD-489X-ZSFR | SKU: 9566025
Apparently there's 2 different XFX Radeon 4890's out there (aside from the "Black" one, I guess that would make 3). The link to Newegg that I put above is the one that I have. If you go to XFX's website they have a different looking card (has the fan to one side instead of in the middle). I doubt there's any performance difference, just a different looking card. The one with the fan on one side would probably cool better, but meh.. no big diff I bet. *shrug*
Good job finding those, minghi.
I should have probably waited until I got home to post the thread, but I knew the longer I waited the less likely people would find one left.
Losfer said: Great deal. Was waiting for a 5850 deal for my new build but this will do nicely! Picked up the last one at the Kildeer, IL Best Buy.Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!
Looked like none in Maine, from all the zeroes at 12-14 stores in the stock check at the store in Lewiston, Maine.

Confirmed! I usally HATE YMMV becuase it never works out for me. But this one did. I live in WI. The first BB didn't have any, but the second one had two, and i snagged them both. It was almost hidden. They were not by the other gfx cards. They were at floor level on an endcap where laptops were sold. Guessing each BB puts it in a different place, but if you are going to look for these look hard.
