Can you use it on a gift card? =) I didn't see them specifically excluded in the terms... but I guess it might fall under something else depending on how you take the wording.

"non-merchandise" means no gift cards. they are not considered merchandise.

I guess you could try to outsmart them by doing the following:
1. Buy 3-5 items that total over $20 AND a gift card. 2. Give cashier coupon and pay balance. 3. On your next visit to store, bring receipt and items you purchased. 4. Return all items other than the gift card for cash.
This may be slightly YMMV, but I'd expect it to work almost every time.

Most likely system will make the percentage off. That means all the items will be discounted, instead of applying the entire $ off from the total.
This ensures, you don't get more money than what you paid for each and every item in your receipt.
Thanks OP....just worked for me. Bought $20 worth of cleaning supplies, cashier didn't even look at the coupon, just scanned it, folded it in 1/4ths and put it in her drawer. Either she did not care or already seen it. Total went from $21.40 to $10.81 with tax. Thanks again!
The Kentlands Kmart location was a MAD HOUSE today!!! Never ever seen that many people in a Kmart (except for the holiday or back to school rush). CRAZY!
