My guess is the -RK stand for retail kit. If you dont care at all for the kit then the bare drive from Newegg is fine. 3 years warranty or until the drive fail and 3 months after that since that is the replacement warranty-3 months.

ST315005 "41AS" vs "N4A1AS".
The drive listed in the OP features
No jumper settings and thinner cables
DiscWizard software for effortless installation
Fluid dynamic bearing motor for whisper-quiet acoustics
Built-in self-monitoring technology.
The ST31500541AS just says
Super-low power consumption in every power mode
Cool drives provide long-lasting benefits to the PC or external drive, reducing some component and maintenance costs
Meets and exceeds eco-green customers requirements
Delivers power savings

Both drives (ST31500541AS, and ST315005N4A1AS) are actually supposed to have four platters. They might actually use four 375GB platters.
I have 4 of these drives (all from Fry's too) and so far they have been fine, all running in a Windows Home Server install. Also this sale may end as of today, as new Fry's ads come out on Fridays (they may extend it into this weeks also, so we'll just have to see).

If you get a replacement drive you still have the remainder of your 3-year warranty OR 90 days, whichever is longer. Link

personally i'd feel better getting it from Newegg where i can pretty much assume that the hd i'm getting isn't a repackaged returned hard drive that fry's like to pull
