Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Motor Oil, incl Extended Protection $5/qt, $2.50/qt w/Coupon @K-Mart B&M Just came back from K-mart. They have a nationwide sale on Mobil 1 Synthetic Motor Oil, all grades, including more expensive Extended Protection - 2 for $10. This comes out to lower per qt price than Wal-Mart's 5-qt jugs. Use the $10 off $20 coupon in other thread to make it $2.50/qt.
I went to Pep Boys recently for their Mobil 1 sale. They had the 5 qts of Mobil 1 with a Mobil 1 filter for 29.99 My car's oil did not qualify. I driv ea 2009 VW Rabbit 2.5. My car uses the 5w-40 w ESP formula. The checkout said my oil was not the "extended protection" blend, therefore I did not qualify.
Tried it in Salt Lake City. They would only let me use one coupon. Coupon scanned invalid. They called the manager and got him to do an override. He said it was a one-time thing, he would not honor any more 10-of-20 coupons going forward.
Same here. Just came back from Kmart in Sacramento. Coupon scanned as invalid for Mobil 1 purchase, despite it says it can be applied to promotional and clearance items. Had to override --- but was able to get 8 bottles for $23 (tax included).
Be prepare to stand in line for 15min for them to sort through the "problem".

In Tucson she said the coupon is only valid in New York even though it plainly states on the coupon that it is for any location.

Here is a new one I have never heard... The manager at K-Mart (in North Carolina) told me that I could not use it, because it was made solely for New York stores and someone had "hacked" into their company computers and made them available for everyone to print from the internet. I didn't know even try to fight it, that was a classic excuse!!!
At least a dozen signs on the door on the way in at the local Big K stating that they will not honor the $10 off $20 due to "unauthorized distribution of the coupon". I'm guessing that's their standardized response today as the signs looked pretty much like a standard Kmart template.
I haven't stepped inside one for over six years and I was actually considering going to one this weekend after seeing this deal. If K-Mart actually honored their promotions, they might get some more customers.
@jxzee121 If you can't get 5w-40, try the 0w-40 on your VW

The only one in Mobil 1 product line that qualifies recent VW specification (502.00 or sth close) is the 0W40. Others may void your warranty if not ruin your engine.
