Thanks for the recent info update, I will be needing the discount shortly, as my 3 free years runs out in a little while on my Equinox.

Just got 15 months for 149 and 100 free minutes (Minutes good for 6 months). I was turned down last month but figured I would try again since service runs out the middle of this month. She said they always have some kind of special and the special at this time would be about 19 dollars a month but then said they had a special for my vehicle. Said I could get 12.90 for 6 months with 100 free minutes. I said I heard some were getting offered 15 months for 149 and she said she had to check with supervisor. Came back with at first a 14 month offer> I ask if any free minutes went with it and she said no. She then said I could have 15 months for 149. I said OK I am going to take the offer but do you also have any offers for minutes I could buy too? She said..I will also give you the 100 minutes of calling good for 6 months. She was very nice and did not give me a hard time like the person last month. THANKS OP and people that kept this topic alive.

Called about the Safe and Sound $149 Loyalty rate, they said yes sure then they said no, your SUV is registered in Canadawe can not do it. I said cancel then I don't use it enough, they then said we will give you the US regular rate[$198]. I asked about the free minutes they said we will give you 100 free minutes. I guess I could have held out for more but I saved over $100 and 100 free minutes[ regular price in Canada is $289 plus taxes] so 149 would have been nice but all in all it beat what they wanted to start with, so thank you Fat Wallet and Thank you people!

I called today and they had to connect to the disconnect department. I was on a montly plan, don't ask me why. I asked for the $149 15months plan. They said they couldn't give me that. But did offer me the $149 and 100 free minutes good for 1 year. I took it. I really wanted to add minutes to my plan so I got $100 minutes basically for free. I saved myself $40 and $30 on my plan cost. It is definately worth a phone call. I"m sure I could have haggled more, but I didn't want to be greedy.

Called today as my free 6 months on new car was about to expire. Hit "6" and said I was thinking abut dropping the service unless they could offer me a good deal. The CS rep offered S & S @ $149 for 12 months right off the bat. I then asked for 3 years @ $399 but dispite sending her back twice to her supervisor they would not budge. I asked for 14 months she offered 13 months. I said ok but you have to give me some navigation months and carry my 300 minutes forward or no deal. She checked again and said ok, will give you 13 months S & S , carry your minutes forward and 6 months free navigation all for $149 and no tax. I said deal.
Thanks to fatwallet and everyone contributing their experiences.

I got offered the promo 15 months for $149. I do not need the directions nor the minutes. I was happy with that deal. I would cancel but for the family it is probably a good thing to keep.

I have 2 Vehicles of which one is not a GMC. I have both vehicles covered with AAA Premier which includes a 200 mile tow as well as all of the typical emergency road services. Both vehicles are driven approximately 4000 miles per year (low mileage drivers). I have two months remaining on my 6 month OnStar provided when I purchased my GMC. I can't seem to justify renewing OnStar since we are not in the vehicles all that often. I have a smart phone, navigation system in the GMC vehicle. Also, I haven't locked myself out of a vehicle in over 30 years. I tried to use OnStar one time in 4 months because my steering wheel was locked. I couldn't get to OnStar emergency button because my vehicle didn't start and therefore no OnStar connection. That's my story. Good Luck to you!
