I have reservations in less than three months for Madrid. Give me ideas of sights to see and things to do, in addition to checking off another country that I get to eat at a McDonald's.

Are you trying to hit all countries or every Mickey D's in each country, 'cuz hitting just one in each country doesn't seem like it's that much of a challenge - at least not for a legend such as yourself
Also, you should consider a website that could mark the locations of all your visits - perhaps using the FW avatar stamped on a Mickey D's logo - you know, if you're bored and need something to do...
Sorry, I don't have the slightest clue as to where to suggest you visit. I don't even have a passport, or interest in getting one.

It's a lovely city to walk in. It's going to be cold in March!
I would recommend seeking out the best place for a charcuterie plate, some lamb and a bottle of Rioja, but you're just going to go eat a Big Mac
Thanks for the suggestion so far. It's the last week of March. I checked the average temperatures for the time period. It shouldn't be too bad. I've been in Ireland (Dublin and Belfast N Ireland) in November previously. I survived the cold/wind/rain there. I do have a really good winter coat. I guess I should bring it, along with a lighter coat.

I too would like to see a website of where you visited and the ones left and possible photos of different ones and how they vary.

Got to think about the push-pin McDonald's site. I can check off about 15 countries. Many more to go. Any pics I have are on Flickr. Got to start organizing that.

I like this idea. You could accept submissions for the site from amateur burgereaters, with pictures as a compare and contrast exercise. Does it have to be McDonald's? I'm going to be in MiddleOfNowhereLand in April where I know there's no McDonald's but there is a single, tiny Burger King (I've seen it before). It would be good amateur entry.
It doesn't have to be McDonald's, but I like to go to that brand at least once. Easier record keeping. Those spanish burgers look good. The first one looks like they put jelly on top. I've never tried that.

I just had a Big Mac at this Puerta del Sol McDonald's. Both the Big Mac and the restaurant were very much above average. Good work Spain!

I've been back from Spain for three days. I have a bunch of pictures to copy from my digital camera. I'll have to get to that. I'll post a couple here when I get a chance from the day they had the general strike and the protesters surrounded the McDonald's (pictured above) that I was in.
I got back to the park-and-ride airport shuttle lot very late on Saturday after two long flights and a bus ride. I just wanted to go to sleep but when I got to my car, the battery was dead. It's a relatively new Acura. I called the auto club, the guy comes to jump start it and he tells me to drive it around for 30 minutes before turning it off. That was the last thing I wanted to do (take a late night joy ride) as I just wanted to go to bed, but I drove around in circles a few times before driving the car into my garage.
I took the car to the dealer and they couldn't figure out what drained the battery. They said the battery was OK and there was nothing out of the ordinary discharging the battery when the car was off. Anyone have any ideas? It's a 2010 Acura TSX.
While I was inside McDonald's the police had the place surrounded to keep the protesters (people on a one day general strike) from getting out of control.
