I usually do, but if you ever travel to Europe, many hotel rooms and bathrooms are extremely small, so there I may leave the door open.
Several years ago I was in Paris at an Ibis Hotel. The door to the bathroom I only could get open about 1/3 of the way. The reason why is it was hitting the toilet. I had to slide in and then shut the door to reach it.
and, yes, if i am in a hotel room by myself, i will shut and lock the bathroom door. if dh is with me then i just leave the door open so it doesn't fog up the mirrors.

I only close it if the bathroom is directly across from the entry door. I stayed in one room where someone could, if they were so inclined, look through the peep hole from the hallway directly into the bathroom. I found that disturbing. Otherwise, I always lock the hotel lock when I'm in the room so no one can just walk in.
