have you considered leaving him in the car? leave the windows up all the way so he can't get out

(obviously kidding)

I get 2 or 3 walks in with my german shepherd puppy (7 mo, so she's pretty big already) at 1-2 miles each.

That and some dedicated play time in the evening tend to get her tired enough to behave.

There is no easy answer other than taking the time to wear out your dog...

I take Maddie to Barnes and Noble sometimes.

I thought your dog is named Eddie?

I used to take my dog through the drive in at Taco Bell just to have something to do.

I'd eat the food and wrap one of her treats in the paper and then in the bag and she'd have
and great time ripping it open and eating it. Made kind of a mess but she loved it.

I have a small pack.

she needs an ark

Very attractive family you have there.

If your dog plays well with others, see if there is a dog park nearby. They are usually set up with fences and they let the dogs run free. Otherwise with a leash, any park, down the street, across town. Whatever. Can even get a pet trailer for a bicycle.

One advantage to small dogs: they can go just about anywhere. Harry has even been to Home Depot and Lowes. Restaurants with outside seating sometimes allow dogs. Just ask. We often sit outside at Starbucks.

My great dane used to love going to Petco. They had the treat "bar." He considered it his help-yourself buffet.

1. find some kids
2. see if dog wants to play with kids
3. ????
4. profit

When she was new I used to shut my dog in the bathroom with me while I took a long bath and either watched a movie or read a book.
I'd give her a non-stinky chew so even though she wasn't a chewer she'd still hit it because there was nothing to do and she wouldn't bark or whine because I was right there. Very relaxing way to pass the evening for both of us.

have you considered burger king? i hear they can hang out in the lettuce

Our corgis are sure that everyone on the planet wants to meet and befriend them. One in particular will drag us to the local junior college, which I admit is woodsy. Still, I swear it's because he wants to meet people.

I want to meet them too.

You've never seen the commercial with the guy renting out puppies? All them spots.

Korean restaurants welcome them

i always walk my dog at least twice a day and spend my time in the park with him

During finals week at ISU in Ames, a fraternity had a fund raiser where for $10, you could spend 30 minutes playing with a puppy.

Just stay at home and do an activity the dog likes. Like sniffing each others butts

Contact Hospitals or Nursing homes around you, many like to have dogs come in to visit patients. My mom is a volunteer at a Hospital and she brings her standard poodle in sometimes and the people there love her, the dog not my mom, she can be a bitch to the staff which is good since her job is to be a patient advocate

Would Starbuck enjoy going to the lake or something like that? There are all sorts of outdoor activities. Just don't forget a jug of water and a travel water bowl.

Is the dog female? If so its two bitches.

I suspect my husband may have agreed to let me get a second dog (a female) just so he had license to use that word, bitch.

Nah, he'd probably still use it, just not around you. (ducks)

Don't worry - I throw like a girl.

Is your dog a particular breed? There might be a Yahoo Group. There's one for beagles in No Va and they plan activites,
outdoors when they can and at local doggy day cares during the winter. They just ask for a $10 donation to join. They host a beagle cruise twice a year, too. My dog was scared of machinery so I never went on those.
I have also seen a local public lake has twilight canine cruises.

labs!
