Hi Everyone! Recently I have been getting REALLY obscene calls on my cell phone (AT&T) and I am sick of it! The number is blocked of course and I have already tried calling AT&T to see if they can do anything about it. The only thing they can do is change my number which I don't really want to do because of the inconvenience and the fact that I finally have a pretty easy number. Is there anything at all that I can do about this? Any suggestions? TIA!!!

blow a loud whistle everytime they call you.......don't stop til they hang up.
LinkyThere was a story on the news recently saying you should use *57 from any phone. This "locks in" the number at the phone company apparently. I don't know how it's different from you calling the cops and telling them that you're getting harassing phone calls, but hopefully it helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll have to call AT&T about the *57 feature. Also, if I were to call the cops, what are they actually going to do about it?

The cops can't/won't do anything if they can't see the actual number. Best bet is to just not answer when it's a blocked call. Soon enough the calls will go away, cause it won't be any fun for them to talk to the VM....
And *most* of the basic star codes will work on cells. But lots of em only work on landlines..... like I think *57 does.

I thought most of these things were land line only, but that's not what they said. It can't hurt to call the cops and your phone company to see what they suggest.
Incoming calls with Caller ID blocked receive a message telling them this line does not accept calls from callers who block their number. (Does not tell the caller how do do this!) (Monthly charge per line -- Free with Caller ID.)

Your best bet is to call the local police in your area and file a complaint get them to give you the case number. Then call in to AT & T and report harassing phone calls they may or may not transfer you to their fraud department thats where it was handle at the phone company I worked for. Give them the case number and them hound the police to do something as most phone companys will not give you any info but do have to work with the police.

When I was recieving death threats(long story) via my cell, the cops didn't do anything when it was a blocked call. Verizon couldn't do anything either if it was a private or blocked call, even with the police were involved. Only time anything ever got done is when the retards forgot to block their number lol *jailtime*
What you called the cops on them instead of issuing street justice?

I like this suggestion Going to get a whistle (seriously)
I suppose you shouldn't put your ear to the phone when you received a blocked call. They may want revenge.

Man, if I was getting obscene phone calls on my cell, I wouldn't want them to stop! I usually have to pay a very high per-minute rate for such things. I might even buy a cell phone plan that came with more minutes. What a bargain!
Still, I bet it's a guy calling. Obscene phone calls from guys are no fun. Who says the best things in life are free?
