OMG! This is going to be bad...
41 pairs of work dress shoes (includes dressy sandals) 10 pairs of 'casual' sandals 2 pairs of crappy beach/pool flip flops 6 pairs of 'formal' shoes 4 pairs of boots 3 pairs of loafers 4 pairs of tennis shoes 3 pairs of slippers (including the big fuzzy pink pig slippers that the cats pounce on when I shuffle around)

Not really, but they're all kept in their shoe boxes with a polaroid pic of the actual shoe taped to the outside so I can see what's what. That and the fact that there are a pair of sandals and tennies at the front door, tennies next to the stationary bike in the bedroom, slippers in the bathroom (spreading them out all over the house frees up a bit of closet space
Oops, forgot my cheap pedicure flip flops I keep in the car. 39!!

it hink i've tried to do this before
lets see. . . 8 flats: brown boots, black eccos, sneakers, old flip flops, doc martin sandals, 3 pairs of slippers (2 of those are really just used for guests) 10 heels: black closed toe (old, with chinky heel), black closed toe (favorite, with sexy heels), black mule (long pants shoe), black boots, white strappy sandal, black sandal with no back, black sandal with sexy ankle ties, beige sandal with super high heel, brown strappy sandal, white satin stappy from wedding (do they even have to count?)
No way to count, but way too many, that's for sure.
I have three pairs of lime-green sandals, for a start. (not counting the pair of mint-green ones.) Four pairs of bright pink, two pairs of pastel pink. Two navy, two medium blue, one pale blue, one - no, two - aqua. One lavender. Two gold. Two yellow, one orange, one silver. Three red, though one pair needs to be thrown away. At least six pairs each of black and various shades of brown. Three multis. (these are all sandals.)
Fortunately, sandals are easy to store, as are loafers and flats. Heels are a slightly different matter, but I'd be surprised if I had more than one or two dozen of those.
two pairs of shoes at office. I walk like running. too busy. two other pairs and a pair of slippers home.

dh has 4 pairs of cowboy boots, 2 pr tennies, a pair of ankle skecher boots, his work boots & his house slippers.
I hope zappos has another blow-out sale soon, love using them, all my zaps were under $20 and they're all great.

I have shoes that I wear and shoes that are just there! Do you want to count things like the clear plastic thongs from the Drugstore with the plastic sunflower on them (something like $1.99)? Or real shoes?
I have probably 4 pairs of cute beaded sandals (from New York City) 1 pair of exercise sandals 1 pair beach mesh kind of shoes 3 pair tennis shoes (Costco brand) dressier shoes (that I don't ever wear, with heels and stuff): probably about 5 pair 1 pair black clunky skeetchers 1 pair black shiny shiny shoes 1 plastic sunflower shoes for the beach
I have a pair of shoes. I got them for $13. Oh, and some $70 rock climbing shoes. And I might have some busted up shoes in the closet somewhere.
