maybe it was the cigarette hanging out of your mouth.

I would think if you have a history of family with heart problems, or once you hit a certain age. Or they could just be thorough and want to have an ECG to catch something early?

I have never smoked in my life ( not even one puff )...No family history of heart problems...My HDL is on the lower side but..

Someone has reached "the certain age".

It's painless, and they need it for a baseline to compare to later on. Bend over and take it (oops, that for the colonoscopy!).

I had an ECG once, it took maybe 5 minutes tops.

ECGs are pretty useless until it's already too late...

It's just a Lolli <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border=0>

EKGs are often given in routine physicals to people beyond a certain age. However, they are also probably pretty worthless. The world is littered with heart-attack victims who just came from the doctor's office and were given a clean bill of health by an EKG.

Get Tom Cruise to give you a sonogram, instead. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border=0>
