Well, it is 9pm and I stopped at BB on my way home from work to talk to my friend who worked there. I asked him about BF and what way the line goes, and I go with him to talk to a manager who has been through 5 BF's. He said 3 people were already camped out, but got sent home. YEEESSHH!! BB is going to be a MESS!

Imagine how it's going to be in South Carolina where this is a tax-free weekend for us. I know some of you are lucky to not have sales tax but it's going to be mass hysteria.

Lol, its not BF line....but those 3 guys wanted to rob BB just 2nights before BF so that it becomes hard for BB & cops to catch them in this BF crowd, shopping spree & sales.
Yes I went to BB for BF once. First there was almost a riot when people rushed the door (ignoring the line down the block.) Then there was the squishing through the doors. Then there was the 90 minutes in line waiting to checkout. Never again!

LOL. Yes what we humans do can really be quite absurd in hindsight.

so let me understand. they will be there this night, then the whole thanksgiving day and next night, just to catch a $300 discount on a tv or a laptop? crikey... I wont give away the butterball + gravy + cranberries sauce for anything...
I'm going Friday morning just for the fun of it. And if we score, cool, if not same thing... cool

Seriously? What could they have possibly been waiting to purchase? I haven't seen anything that would keep me from a day of sleeping in and a turkey meal.

I guess they're uninform comsumers. Because as it is right now they can just type and order online on Friday morning. Why would they give up all that instead of fighting it out at the comfort oftheir home? Also as coalminer said there is nothing worth it to even go there let alone stand in line all Thanksgiving.

I'm betting the people lining up heard that BB is holding it's latest shipment of PS3s for BF.

Hope I'm not too late...
I get off work Thanksgiving Day at 2:30 and plan to drive out to BB after that. Hopefully I won't be too late. There are a few BBs here in my city, so I have some options if the first is busy already. It's going to be about 30F here tomorrow night. I'll be getting off my 16 hour shift (which will pay for both laptops and the desktop!), so I'm going to show up and actually sleep in the front of the BB. I'm bringing:
- sleeping pad and blanket - water - food - gun (my city is in the top 10 most dangerous, not going to get robbed)

I'm going light like a true hobo.
To each his own, but:
A) If I need a gun to spend the night outdoors, I should not be outdoors.
B) Don't you have family or friends to spend some time with?
C) I would encourage anyone here to volunteer at a local shelter and help serve meals during the holidays. If not for Thanksgiving, consider Christmas or other days during the next month. I am celebrating 20 years of serving meals this Thanksgiving, and I am bringing along a few friends to help out.

Anyone who lines up on Thanksgiving day to get a BF deal falls under my definition of a Hobo.

At least it's better than last year when the news reported that people were paying homeless people to hold their spot in line for them. (some were paying only $5)

BestBuy is known to be anti-gun so ymmv. Someone on another msg board had a problem with a rent-a-cop trying to figure f a guy was stealing a cdafter buying $1200 worth of merchandise. Security guard said what is the bulge in your shirt. Said he had a license, etc. Security guard wanted to take possesion. HOWEVER IT COULD BE ILLEGAL TO GIVE A LICENSED GUN to a 19 yr old security guard that may or may not know the proper safety req.. A police office yes, a security guard no. Customer said call police and i'll give it to them. after which police officer said he was right, best buy mgr felt stupid but didnt apologize, and corporate couldnt care less. Think this happened in Indiana

Its 8:11am and I am going to pickup my girlfriend now!
Funny that some people will stand in line that long when they could probably just go to work and make more money than they would save on the BF items, or than they'd make if they're just going to fleabay them. Without any of the hassle of waiting/buying/fleabaying/shipping. Or the chance of getting shot.
My time, sanity, and safety is worth more than that.

Yeah, but the STORIES you'll have for the rest of the year: priceless! (tongue in cheek, for those who miss the online sarcasm)

Well, just woke up from my morning nap after waiting in line at BB since 10:30pm. I was about 75 back and still got the 32" Westy! Sweet!!! Missed the $190 Emachine but got the $399 Compaq and get this.....The guy that got it grabbed the wrong CPU and instead of them changing it they just rang it through for the $399....the CPU I got was the SR2054X=$800 vs the SR2039NX=$650!! Little Christmas gift huh? Oh well, then I ran to Target and was in and out with the Air Hockey table for $40 in 15 min! WOW!! Merry Christmas All!!!
