(a) The sample came dried out, at least for me (b) Lists of customers are now cached on google: example This means that when an employer now googles me (or any of you who did request) I show up on... yes, an astroglide customer list.
Astroglide already removed it, but is there any legal recourse or way to request google un-cache it? When you go to request a sample, the following is given:
(All information will be used for mailing purposes only and will not be distributed to any outside organizations. Except maybe the paramedics if your free trial gets out of hand.)
There's more here, here, here and a whole list of urls, in case you want to see if you're included.
Some search results are showing up without the cached link, so it seems to me like maybe some other people caught this and requested removal (as I just did)
Edit: I swear i put this in Deal Discussion, not free stuff. I know its miscategorized... mods, please move.

Did you email or call the company, I'd guess they can contact Google to request that it be removed.
Your post probably was moved to Free Stuff because the names are of people who requested free samples.
I discovered it by googling my own name. I'm graduating from college and applying to jobs and I really um, don't need this.
Google apparently has a webmaster tool to remove a site from cache if it no longer exists. I submitted it, but only the file with my name in it (it only lets you put in one url at a time.) Here's hoping they just flush them all, but you guys might want to look into getting yours removed too

ACK! That is REALLY bad!
I didn't request a sample, but I'd be mad if they published my name and address on their website. Thanks for the info. Good thing to keep in mind for future samples!
I don't think those lists are huge money makers. People requesting free stuff are usually not good paying customers. I know there are PLENTY of people that request free stuff and then also become great customers, but not the average person online requesting free stuff.

Could you post how to do this?! My name is there too! Grrrr!

Doesn't matter if you're just selling the names to spammers and junk mailers. All they care about is that the address is valid. These names/addresses are going to get (or more likely, already are) splattered all over.
That's REALLY irresponsible of Astroglide.

This is why every time I request a sample online, I always use a fake name.
Luckily, I didn't request Astroglide. Shame on them.

That is terrible, good thing I didn't rquest this, there should be recourse for the company being so irresponsible with consumers information, and I causes me to be more mindful in checking out the information before requesting samples from reputable companies, I mean who is (Astroglide)? I will definately be more cautious, and protective of my personal information. As for astroglide? SHAME ON YOU!!! I will not do business with you... Perhaps those who have been should contact the company directly and request thier personal info be removed?? concerned consumer

I told my wife about this and boy did it loosen up her butthole
I sent a request to the company via e-mail demanding removal from all WWW search engines and also demanding compensation in the amount of $5,000 to avoid legal action.

Nice! Not only I NEVER received the sample, I have my address information listed. This is actually illegal. The mistake is not of Google, but of astroglide that published this data. Even if it was cancelled later, it is against the agreement you accepted. I am sorry to day it may take years for the search engines (Google is just one of them) to get rid of that info... Do you think we can leverage on some customer association for a class action and sue them for breaking the agreement, breaking into our privacy?

Thank Goodness I have a very common name. My name & address are not on the list. I think I got a sample once. I Googled my name & address thankfully nothing about me came up. I work for the government & when we apply for jobs they do background checks on us. I never thought about what samples I got could come back to haunt me. Even though it didn't happen this time I will be very careful as to what I request. Maybe get it in my husband's or dog's name next time. I'm sorry for those that it happened to. I will NEVER buy their products or anyone else's who do this. I will also tell everyone I know to be more careful.

i copied the list and will rehost it in case google gets rid of it!
Actually, I'm just bitter. I didnt get in on the deal, and now my name is not on the list. That woulda been a great jumpstart to my porno career.
EDIT: If i was a boss, hiring a girl, and I saw her name on an astroglide list, she'd probably definitely be hired, (if she is under a size 24)
Come on everyone, stop being so upset by this! What ever happend to making lemonade out of lemons? Let's have fun with this. May I suggest: Dear Mr. (f_name) (l_name):
Recently you visited our website, www.astroglide.com, and ordered a sample of our industry leading personal lubricant "Astroglide." Hopefully you've received the sample product and have had a change to experience its many benefits. If that's the case, the folowing information is important, please read it carefully.
It has come to our attention that there was a small problem with a limited amount of samples that we've sent out. Regretably this error may have an impact on some Astroglide users. Tests have shown that these users may experience slight long term discomfort from continued use of our lubricant.
The effects are an annoying itch that lasts from 3 to 4 hours, usually noticeable during extending periods of inactivity. This usually happens when persons are seated for over 45 - 60 minutes, as when watching TV, eating meals, driving long distances etc. The itch can be quite uncomfortable, but has no other negative health effects. It is only slightly contagious, about 55% of exposed partners have reported this annoying itch.
Unfortunately once the itch seats in the pubic area there is no known remedy, fortunately there is a cream that can prevent the problem from becoming permanent IF it is diagnosed early. However the prevention cream can cause its own problems if the patient has not been exposed to the contaminated samples. Therefore it’s important that you only request the cream if you’ve been exposed.
The only way to properly diagnose if you’ve been exposed is by a visual check. So we request that if you’ve used the Astroglide sample that you send our staff Doctors a picture of your potentially exposed body areas. Email pics only, good lighting please.
Did we mention that this problem only affects young women, age 18 – 40? Well that’s true. So send in those pics now, please.
BTW: this is just one of the reasons I use "spam names." Besides a spam address or two, I have a few names that I use for various offers. The first nae is correct, but the last names are similar to my real name, with just a letter or two off. I have one spelling for free offers, another for contests etc. That way not only do I avoid problems like these, but it makes sifting through snail mail a lot easier. If the letter is addressed to "Max Moyo" I know it can easily be tossed without even opening.

that is genius!!! Maybe as a bonus you can send a letter from a company that sells sexual heavy duty powertools to people on that list asking them to give your tools a try, since Biofil shared it's customer list with your company
While those are good suggestions, I had to provide my real name when signing up for this sample. My school mailbox was used (yeah, I'm just dropping hints all over the place. Go ahead and mail me - I'm graduating in two weeks anyway.) Since students drop out or graduate and the address is re-used, they will only deliver mail that's properly addressed to me. I once had an eBay package come in my brother's name instead of my own that they refused to release to me unless I had him come and bring identification.
As far as contests go, I'm always afraid they won't release a big prize like travel if I can't provide ID. Plus it would be sort of fraudulent to sign an affadavit with someone else's name.

Some of the names on that list are pretty funny. There's someone who obviously kept changing their name a little and added different apt numbers to their address to get like 10 samples, rofl.
Google inadvertently indexed a limited portion of our data archive. The files have been removed from Google's active index of our website, and they will complete processing our request to remove all records in the next day or two.
