Now waiting for "How to sell the extra child you don't need"Scott, private adoptions between consenting adults is a wonderful and rich tradition. If there is money that exchanges hands, it helps to ensure that the "receiving" party is well-off enough to provide a fiscally rewarding upbringing.
Win a Nobel Prize or an Olympic Gold Medal, preferably both. The value of your reproductive fluids will go through the roof (no, not literally, they need to bottle it).

In any event, I am certain people will benefit from this thread. Mostly poor people and college students, but they have a right to make a buck off their dna.

Now I've never donated plasma...but
I have done several medical trials/surveys.
They really don't take up too much of my time, and I am promptly compensated for them.
Now I won't take "trial" medication, but will answer questions, do various other types of trials...
Might as well get some perk for having a disease. And maybe it will help someone in the future.

It is a sad, sad day today as I find myself reading a "finance" thread about the best ways to make money by selling body fluids.
Ah, the pundits must be right about that nearing recession!

Wow you guys are something else...
Well having multiple diseases would be good.....then you can span more research...of course depending on the area you live in.....check with the local research hospitals...
Of course it's not ONLY for people with chronic diseases.
Just looking at if from a different perspective.
Multiple sclerosis is alot of fun...make you could go out and "get" that one...Im really enjoying it.

you know how the big thing with Hollywood stars is to adopt African and African-American babies?
how about a service that sells white babies to wealthy black couples, or wealthy couples in Asia?
this business can arrange a trade of white children for Louis Vuitton bags and luggage, or other luxury items.
the markup would be substantial... this could be HUGE.

It can be a real help to all sorts of people, but it is funny too. Your suggestion about multiple diseases triggered a reflexive, "How do I do a disease-O-rama with minimal side effects?"

I'll look up a few links for you...
My daughter has participated in several research studies (nothing with investigational medication though)...and come out with some extra money. It's really pretty easy money, and helpful to the researchers.
One time it was right before her endocrinology appt. They asked her questions for an hour and she got a $100 gift card to the mall.(questions like how often does she test her blood sugars, does she count carbs, when was she dx, family history, stuff like that) She's a teen, she was very happy.
Just finished one yesterday...it takes about 1/2 hour to answer the questions, they send me a check for $25. After I complete 6 of the surveys I get a bonus $100 check.
First off, I have to admit that I laughed out loud when I saw the title.
Several of my friends went to Pharmaco to participate in trial studies. They do all sorts of things, some easy, others longer term. If you want to save on rent for a month between residences, it is definately possible to sign up for a study and live at the facility during that time. The company is now called PPD Development.
I think this may have been mentioned in the other thread, but egg donation is an option some women could seriously consider. You can get several thousand dollars in a few hours. Not to mention helping couples who need some help.

If you are a woman, look at how much some men will pay for your bodily fluids.

Interesting topic. I haven't paid to see a movie in about 3 years because when I donate blood here at UCLA, I get two free passes to the movies. I also have a pile of t-shirts and other stuff that they usually give away with a donation, and recently, since I started donating platelets, I get 3 movie tix, and last time a jamba juice card. Honestly though, all of these things are really a fringe benefit of knowing that you were able to help out someone else who needed it. My mom required a ton of transfusions when she was going through chemotherapy, so it's the least I could do to try and repay some of that.
But I guess this wouldn't be fatwallet without maximizing returns.

I'm sure a few people will get some use out of this thread. But, I am a poor college student and there is no way I'm going to be anybodys lab rat. Besides have you seen some of the people that hang out in front of those plasma donation places. I have to drive by one every day and I always roll up my windows and hit the gas.
