kimmo, makes no diff whether you have a diploma or a GED.

You don't really want the degree - you want the job that you can get with the degree. SO start doing your research.

Find out what companies local to you have positions like that. Consider seeing if there's a marketing/PR professional group that meets locally (hint - a reference librarian can help). Speak to people who are in the field - what credentials would you need for that kind of position? What schools would they recommend?

Good luck.

Unless kimmo has an employer that will pay for the tuition, I'd recommend against UoP. Pricy.

I would just like to note that for things that will have alot of person to person interaction like marketing i've heard that online degrees aren't very highly thought of. Alot of what you do in college is networking etc and when you do online you don't get that.

In many places you get the best value at a community college. They are accredited, so the credits
will transfer, and they are usually less expensive than other options. Community colleges here offer
courses on line, and have programs to help returning students.

Totally agree. If I am a prospective employer and see a high school dropout who resorted to online classes, I might wonder if this person is someone I would want for my company. It reeks of escapism. However, if I see a HSD who went back to (physical) school, I'd think this person learned some lessons and is now showing some maturity and stick-to-it-ness.

Agreed. Stick with a CC and avoid any for-profit institution -- they just stink.

kimmo, you should be looking to find employers that will pay your college expenses while you work there. Many do.
