Sadly enough, our "media" can't be bothered to research, analyze or report on these hypocrites, liars and phonies, so the average American remains clueless. The link JesseLivermore posted is really not "comedy." It's the type of reporting that should be playing on the nightly news on every channel. But our news media is more interested in reporting on celebrities than doing real investigative journalism. ![]()
Interesting comparison on yesterday's show between George Bush's 2000 acceptance speech and McCain's speech, too many similarities popped up.

<nausea>Ahhh Matt...you can't be serious!! JS is one funny guy! Since I am back in the classroom, I can't stay up late enough to watch his show...gotta catch it the next night as a rerun.

I used to think he was funny, but he lost his funny somewhere along the way, IMO. I used to watch his show all the time but it just stopped making me laugh at some point.
Carlos Mencia, now that's a funny dude. He's no Dave Chappelle, but funny nonetheless. ![]()

I've seen CM live and he was funny, but I have no tolerance for Chappelle. I'm a Stewart/Colbert/Ron White kind of fan.

I tried to like Mencia, but too much of the time he's just smug, ill-mannered and offensive, not funny. ![]()

That's what i think of chapelle!
I agree that sometimes Chappelle and Mencia both reach down too low for their funny, sometimes to just plain gross. But "offensive" can be funny if it's done right.
I think they both need to lay off of race-based humor, it's always going to offend someone and it's just plain tired.

I think they both need to lay off of race-based humor, it's always going to offend someone and it's just plain tired. My theory on racial jokes is that if the joke is so offensive that only one race is 'allowed' to tell the joke, then it shouldn't be told. I couldn't get away with using the language Chapelle uses in his jokes.

Yeah, there's that too, the good ol' double standard. But like I said, even if doesn't offend you, it's just stale, "been there, done that".
While I think he's funny I also think Chappelle is a diva. He left his show and a $50M paycheck becuase he just couldn't handle the fame and fortune (read: he got waaaay coked out). ![]()

Kind of why I like the four Blue Collar comedians (Jeff, Ron, Larry, and Bill). They are pretty grounded.

Yeah, Ron White is kind of the modern Dean Martin. He quit drinking and has iced tea in his glass. ![]()

Many Americans have become gentle, docile, passive sheep.
They believe what they're told, without ever bothering to question the words....no further examination, no asking if the words make sense, or whether they're just tools of propaganda and manipulation.
Many times, these words strike on simple concepts or patriotic themes, further reducing the inclination of the recipient to question them any further.
The clip I linked to just shows you how the spinmeisters have successfully morphed their words into the reality that many people perceive.
How else can you explain Rove or O'Reilly saying the exact opposite thing about different people with a straight face?
Sadly, it's gone on far too long, and the so-called real media can't even call these people to task on this, which highlights the American media's massive failure to the American People.

I agree that the Daily Show has done some excellent reporting in exposing political hypocrites............on the right. While they also take zingers at democrats, their biggest hits are directed toward republicans. You might claim that this is because the republicans are more hypocritical than democrats, but you cannot deny that the Daily Show is biased left. I have yet to see them "investigate" the Obama connections with Ayers, Rezko, or the crooked Chicago political machine. Or Biden's connection with lobbyists, credit card companies, and his past plagarism. Should be lots of hit pieces there. Anyway I like the show, and it is funny regardless of their politics.
The daily show is definitely far to the left.
The hypocrisy they find is stuff that can be found on just about every politician though. I do find the show very funny and intelligent. It would be nice if they bashed both parties equally. There is plenty of available material. After all, it is probably a more watched news source than any news network.

Then there should be plenty of material to keep the 24 hour news networks busy around the clock. If only they cared enough to do their jobs.
