Valentines day is only day of the year I buy my sweet chocolate. I dont want her getting like Jessica Simpson.

My sweetie doesn't appreciate fine chocolates (I am fortunate he thinks Hershey's is great chocolate, I guess ) but I sure do!

I like:

Recchiuti Chocolates
Their key lime pears are amazing when you can get them (seasonal).

I also like Amy's Gourmet Apples. They are pricey, but AWESOME! A friend local to them brought us some as a gift, and they were insanely delicious.

Please don't have them shipped via UPS.

You know what's weird? Over here, the Germans LOVE American chocolate. I just don't understand that. I'm not a huge sweets person, but I love me some Ritter Cappucino chocolate bars. Mmmmmmm.

I was going to order something nice, but I don't want it stolen off of my doorstep.

I post alot of things, might as well reference those too.

I'm going to buy whatever is 75% off on clearance at Target after V-Day, and eat it alone by myself while sobbing.

While I may have been referencing your other thread to a certain extent, it is a true statement for me. We just bought a house and the UPS guy told us that he won't leave boxes on the doorstep, because they would be at a high risk for being stolen. There is nowhere to 'hide' a box on our doorstep and is readily visible from the street. My appologies if I offended you.

Poor MA. It'll happen.

If we didn't have so many of the stores around, I'd be ordering from See's Candy.

sorry, thought you were being sarcastic since someone else also said it.

My wife loves Chocolate covered cherries, The ones the stores sell are cheap and suck. So last year I ordered from Fannie May and she thought they were great. So will get them again

I give all year long, why wait for VD? If you study the history of VD, you wouldn't want to celebrate it.

This seems reasonable

Great sugguestion, my girlfriend loves those things so I will get the pick your own and get half chocolate and half dark.

Does anyone else find it disturbing that Valentine's Day is abbreviated VD?

all the more reason to give someone the gift of condoms.

I'm getting some chocolate-raspberry swirled fudge from The Old Market Candy Shop. We'll pretend it's for him.

my point exactly. wouldn't you be mad if someone gave you something you can't use, and it only reminded you of what you aren't getting?

Mmmmmmm. The best chocolates I have ever eaten were when I was in Europe, especially Germany and Italy. Not just the candy, but their ice creams are to die for!
