FrugalFreak said:Stay on Atkins, You'll be glad. don't take no harmfull pills, cremes, expensive stuff like nutrisys dinners, Alli, Etc.. Soon you will be able to eat moderate amounts of whole grain carbs. In the long term, Atkins isn't good for people, Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig are, and Alli is probably good for losing 20 lbs. Alli may be good to take with Atkins because it prevents fat from being digested. |

Well, I've been doing this for 3 weeks. It's working! Hubby has lost 16 pounds in 4 weeks (he started first). I'm not weighing but I can SEE (and feel) that I'm thinner. This diet is hard, though. So unnatural. I want my buns!! (when I have a hamburger) |

Ok, it's been 4 weeks. Want an update? success!! I don't have numbers, but I have success. I went down one pant size and now those smaller pants are starting to get baggy on me. I'm seeing indentations on my body where there didn't use to be any (muscle tone). I'm rarely hungry--that's another weird thing. My hubby says I look thinner and YOUNGER. |

This diet is hard, though. So unnatural. I want my buns!! (when I have a hamburger) Just make some oopsie rolls for your burger. oopsie rolls These get great reviews over at lowcarbfriends.com There are also several low carb breads around now. Aunt millies makes one with 8 carbs per slice and thats before you deduct the fiber. There are also flat out wraps. I have been eating lower carb for years so I have a lot of info if you need anything. |

You'd be better off by increasing your aerobic exercise by 15-30 minutes a day. I dont agree that low carb diets arent healthy if you follow them properly. Diabetics especially do well on lower carb diets. Low fat diets make you hungry all the time. The ideal diet (in my opinion) is low glycemic. |

who else here hides food? i have a small refrigerator in my office so my son won't consume my drinks, and if i buy something for dh's lunch, i sometimes strategically place it so that it can't be seen in the frig/cupboard, but i don't keep food in other rooms of the house or anything.
She doesn't have kids, so she doesn't have that excuse. I will sometimes put larger stashes of snacks in the guest room (like when the girl scout cookies come in if I ordered 10 or 15 boxes, which I freeze eventually becauase frozen thin mints are way better than room temperature thin mints), or like the crackers from Amazon or something, just because of not having cabinet space. Otherwise, whatever food is here, I share. BUT, I don't have a son with a hollow leg or a house full of teenagers who think a weeks worth of groceries = a decent late night snack. shopliftingvagina is so right but the hardest thing is to keep the weight off

Are you eating enough? Its very easy to not eat enough on atkins diet because you dont get hungry. You know what, I'm probably not. I'm eating one or two meals a day pretty much. I look in the fridge and nothing appeals, so I eat nothing. |

You know what else is new on this diet, I lose interest in food. I'll have a dish of sugar free jello (no carbs) for example, and forget to finish it. It'll just sit there. Then I'll stick it back in the fridge. |
