One day Mr. Smith, the president of a large corporation, called his vice-president, Dave, into his office and said, "We're making some cutbacks, so either Jack or Barbara will have to be laid off." It's going to be a tough weekend - my dad was diagnosed with MS last week, and my mom is taking it pretty hard. They are also saying they might end up selling the house - which is the one I grew up in, which they've owned since 1972 - to move somewhere flatter since my dad can't navigate stairs too well. It's wierd going to the old homestead not knowing how many more times I'll be able to go back there.
