I bought a new computer for the parents (they paid me for it) and set it up while I'm here. I got a new scanner, too, and I'm going nuts trying to get my mom to understand how the software that comes with it works (it's a canon lide 100). Plus, I can't use the scan to email button with Thunderbird, which is what they use for email (they used Netscape Mail for years, I figured it was the closest thing...).

Plus I tried to set up port forwarding on their router so that I could RDC in from home if they have a problem. They have an Actiontec router/AP/Modem that came with their FIOS service, and it's a POS. I finally got port forwarding to work, but I had to set it so that it forwards everything to the 3389, which sort of defeats the point of port forwarding. Grrr.

I just want to say thanks for taking the time to post at FW. I have had similar experiences with my parents.
