All I've heard at home for the past month is a countdown to how many days left until Modern Warfare 2 comes out. Any other concerns, normal loud comments, etc. have been drowned out by this strangely obsessive countdown!
We're rounding the corner, only a few days left! All three of the gamers in my house pre-ordered MW2 ages ago (and funny enough, each at different stores!) I won't be getting any sleep when they come back from the midnight release!
I'm not much of a gamer, but living with some, it's interesting to see what the most anticipated games are. So. I wanna know: How many of you (or folks you know) have been impatiently awaiting the release of MW2?
I'd like to know why this is highly anticipated. I have played COD 2(or 3?), and it was a good game, but I am not sure if I need to be the 1st to own this. My co-workers keep telling me I need to get this game, but no one can tell me why.

I'm not sure i will buy it. They are going the route of steam... if they don't allow the ability to run off network at a lan party, i'll pass.
Why? Is he playing the path of a negotiator? A high Speech skill will offset a low charisma. A high charisma early in the game will get you killed in the Wasteland.

Like you have any friends that would come to a LAN party....

Ya know, I'm not sure, I'll have to ask him tonight. All I ever notice is that he kills almost every NPC he can get away with! Extra gore! yay!
MarsdenFubar: Poor, sad panda! No LAN parties for you

Sometimes I wish I didn't have ADD with video games!
fallout is what i'm playing right now.
I was 'playing' xenosage 1, before that, but even I have limits. after 50 hours, (49 of which I feel were video). I just put it away. I have a limit. Just like I quite on Oblivon. After the 6th evil tower I had to climb to get to the top, to get the evil eye thing. I couldn't take the repative nature. Fallout 3 so far seems more varied so far. Maybe i'm getting old for some of these RPG's, or their just getting too big. But once a game goes over 30+ hours, and i'm no where near the end, it just feels too long.

When I played Oblivion I ran past everything in the towers on the way to the evil eyes, it was quite easy to do that even at low level. Once I'd saved the land I just wandered around (which was more fun) and played a lot of mod content which was more interesting than the official content.

Guess what? Oblivion and Fallout3 were made by the same developers.

i know.
I was going to skip it, but got it for ~25 dollars.
So far, to me, more insteresting then Oblivion. And I liked most of Oblivion, it just started to grind to much. I think I'm roughly 1/2 way through it, and while theres some repetation like it all games. To me oblivion became nothing but towers. Oh look I beat a tower, geuss what heres another. How do I get to the top of this one. oh lets go up and up and up. Wow I beat a tower, geuss what, another tower.
I keep hearing more about it, and my opinion of it keeps dropping. 9v9 max multiplayer, can't host your own server, etc. Not so sure I want this any more.

but there are plenty of side quests to do. At least the last tower is a bit different. I got bored when my character became too powerful.
