It seems like there are more and more deaths from H1N1 happening around the area lately. Have you been noticing this? More and more folks end up in the hospital, and get to the point where they are deathly ill before they are diagnosed properly.

What really struck me was that they said this guy was 6 feet 8 inches tall, and weighed 400 pounds with no health problems. Now I'm not sure what a healthy weight is for that height, but I sort of took that statement with a grain of salt.

"weighed 400 pounds with no health problems"

There's probably a contradiction in that partial sentence but I can't put my finger on it...course he might've been from the South so that'd be normal.

FYI, BMI for someone who is 6'8" is 203 - 249 lbs. BMI Calculator.

"weighed 400 pounds with no health problems"

Maybe the sentence would be more accurate if it said "no diagnosed health problems as of yet"

There are many thousands of flu deaths in the US every year.

My guess is that the guy probably took a lot of things with grains of salt, mostly things that were deep fried.

Was he inoculated against H1N1 or seasonal flu? Funny how they never tell. I guess about another 30k deaths will put us on par with a typical year.

Maybe the mercury got him.

There are no adjuvants in US flu vaccines. The article says he did not receive an H1N1 vaccine.

As a reminder, most flu deaths from the seasonal flu are among the elderly and/or infirm, whereas H1N1 is killing younger folks.

And 400 pounders, of course.

BTW, I've been hearing murmurs that H1n1 has drowned out the typical seasonal flu and is actually peaking right now. Can anyone verify any percentages of exposure and death rates yet? It's funny how they stop counting when it looks like the vaccines might be coming out a little late. I'm pretty sure I had the H1N1 in July of this year. But since I was rocked with terrible ear infections and poisoned by the 1976 vaccine in school with that nasty gun that they jammed in every kid's arm, I think it didn't really have much effect. They had a free injection/inhalation-fest in my city again today, but for the first time, no one hardly showed up. I guess you have the bunch who fights to get their "damn" vaccine and then you have the rest who don't want anything to do with it.

I would imagine that even if he wanted the H1N1 vaccine, more than likely it wasn't available to him. In my area they are still only vaccinating children and pregnant women.

delzy said: qcumber98 said: Maybe the mercury got him. No, mercury causes brain damage. It was probably the adjuvants. How high should the mercury be before it causes brain damage? 104?

Got all 3 of my kids H1N1 vaccinated Tuesday, so I'm feeling better about it. I had to drive 80 minutes, and there was a 40 minute wait in line.
