I am looking for a new camera.

I realize the GF1 is not a true DSLR, but it is a much smaller form factor than the D90, and both are similarly priced - and to boot I can find a great deal on both on eBay.

Can anyone provide any insight on why I should definitely take one of the other? D90 obviously takes better photos, but the GF1 still has many of the manual functions available on a dslr and is much smaller/easier to carry around and can be treated more like a point and shoot.

Any help appreciated!

depends on your ideo of very well... I have used several pro cameras and have not liked many that claim very little noise with high ISO... even after using neatimage/noise ninja I still see a lot of noise. there are websites that will show you the iso's at differnt levels with dif cameras

It depends...

If you are looking for lower noise level at high ISO, D90 is better, but for ligher weight, GF1 is good. The qualiy is the same at pretty much anything below ISO 800. A camera is only as good as how often you take it with you.

Also, it also depends on how improtant "Live View" is to you. GF1 has excellent Live View implementation that is much better than most D-SLRs.

However, if I am extremely concerned about high ISO noise performance, then I would pick D90.

Also, I don't believe GF1 has any wide angle lens beyond 28mm (35mm equv.), but I might be mistaken here.
