I usually watch the Suze Orman show and Dave Ramsey show. For some reason recently I keep getting the feeling the Suze Orman show might be totally staged.
Why? Well all these call ins just seem a little hard to believe.
For example, a caller claimed to be 24 years old, had over 150K in savings, owned a home, had a ton in retirement. Lots of callers seem to have $10K/month take home.
Just seems kind of odd so many upper income people give this show a call. Usually people pulling in that kind of money so fast would be getting financial advice from their own advisors, not a call in show.
I also find her comments on the few people who are in financial chaos a little odd. For example, on the show I watched this week someone called in who was not able to make her credit card payments anymore. Totally maxed out. Then Suze starts this tirade about how the banks cut her credit card limits and how bad the banks were. Well I mean WTF? If she is maxed out on all her cards and can't make the payments what are they supposed to do? Give her a credit limit increase?
This whole show just seems a little staged and out of touch to me which is a shame since it is supposed to be giving advice to regular every day people.
It wouldn't surprise me if it's run like a faith healing road show, where associates of the preacher talk to most of the audience members before the show and arrange for them to get called on.
