I have to wear khaki color for my school uniform. I just purchased a suit and the label says it's taupe. Do you think I can pass off the taupe color as khaki? I am thinking of maybe telling the teacher it's dark khaki. Do you think that it will be acceptable?

(the taupe was on sale and I could only afford it)

Taupe is a broad color term which can refer to almost any grayish-brown, brownish-gray, or warm gray color.

Khakis don't just come in one color or cloth. Khakis as a word and a state of mind contain multitudes.

Don't say anything. Just wear your taupe confidently.

back when i worked at cracker barrel, i was supposed to wear khaki or navy ... they were really picky about the color. they didn't want the lighter tone. really depends on how strict they are.

I painted my family room a color that the paint flyer called "badlands taupe". It turned out to be pink.

Sounds like "badlands" was a trick to get men to paint things pink. Because with a name like "badlands" it's got to be awesome right?
