FB can advise otherwise....
Shall I?

Why would you bother asking? You've shown you have little regard for what other members of the FW community think.

ganda said:   Nothing I guess I ship through eBay so it would be a major PITA to have to go back and change all the tracking numbers, plus keep track of what I have actually shipped etc. Also, if I was a buyer, I wouldn't like to see bogus tracking numbers associated with my purchase, and I suspect your DSRs would start to reflect this. Just print out the real labels early. I just printed a few, to qualify for the 1 day handling, and I'll box them up over the weekend sometime when it's convenient.

Well...I ship via eBay as well. I just tried it out...when you do print shipping label, it just adds it to your transaction, so you now have TWO tracking numbers there. So you won't need to go back and change the tracking. Now one of them will be really obvious that it's not a proper tracking number (ie: 999999999999999999). Also, I normally ship within 1 day anyway, but this is to minimize the few times I ship between 1 and 2 business days...so I think the complaints would be low. Printing labels ahead of time is a PITA for me because I need to weigh my widgits everytime I ship.

Yes, but
not acceptable, label prepared, it goes into the mail system.
No reason not to.
Also po looks down on that practice, it makes them look bad.
While you can print for 3rd day from label order, certainly not the 5th.

So you would rather that seller DIDN'T print the label until the 4th day? Would that make you feel better to know that the label printed four days later and shipped that same day it was printed?

I said..did you miss it?

Seller had the opportunity to print the label to be used 3 days later, he did not.

He was also asked to include a packing slip.....
It will be here in another hour or so, we shall find out.

You didn't answer my question...would you have felt better if seller print (or in your words prepare) it on day three and ship it on that day? Because all you are whining about is the fact that it went into the system three days prior to shipping it. So how about if the seller DIDN'T "prepare" it three days earlier. Would you still complain?

When he prints it is not the issue, it is that he did print it and not mailed it.
I can't make it any clearer.
And it did not arrive yesterday.

I am printing some UPS and USPS today, but also marking as to be dated tomorrow, the day I will SHIP.

I have heard from the seller, when I asked about the mailing date.
He slimely says if I add up the numbers/dates eBay had on the listing he has 13 days to get it to me.....
He also gleefully said, it was listed as first class mail, and he is sending it PM.
The funny part is, it cannot go first class and PM is less than parcel post.....

He was asked for a packing slip, let's see if I get it....

I have not received it yet.

You avoided my question again...which implies that you know you would not be happy either way.

Question: "would you have felt better if seller print (or in your words prepare) it on day three and ship it on that day?"

YES or NO?

You have no question to answer any diff from what I have already said.
I take it you are not familiar with eBay shipping.
I can print a label today, have it marked as mailing today, which is what the seller did, that indicates it will be on it's way today.
I can also print it indicate mailing on the 28th, days away, which the seller did not do.
A seller needs to do all the properly.

My address is listed as 5 Main Street.

The seller wrote '5 Main St' on the box.
I left him bad feedback. My address is clearly listed as 'Street', not 'St'. A seller needs to do all the properly!

No one did. But your complaints about all your sellers seem just as trivial to me.

RE:

No, not all.
But I do expect, but will never get a level of the service I provide my buyers.

eBay needs an eBay.2.com
For ALL the other type of sellers (less than stellar) so a buyer has a choice.

They (eBay) are trying to turn us sellers into Amazon Prime - off our backs, of course.

You can schedule your auctions to end on Friday and you will have until Monday to mail. (i.e. one business day)

True, but my auctions do much better when they end on Sundays. Better than the 5% fees discount for shipping within 1 day, anyway!

So if he didn't print the label until the 22nd when he actually mailed it, you'd be happy then?

aya carumba.....

I could careless when he prints it,as long as it is mailed that day.....maybe the next.
If you ship you would know you can date it for the day of actual mailing if not that day.
First look on eBay says mailed on the 17th, far far from the truth.....

BTW, the same bimbo seller said he upped it to PM for me from FirstCLass.......
I showed him where he saved over $2.00 doing that....
And he did me a favor, I don't think so.

Anyone else notice this gem:

"New automatic 5-star Detailed Seller Rating (DSR) for Communication protects sellers from getting low DSRs when there was no communication at all. Starting in April, you'll get an automatic 5-star Communication DSR when you specify same-day or 1-day handling, upload tracking information by the end of the next business day, and no communication was needed between you and the buyer. Of course, friendly, prompt and informative communication is always important, so on transactions where buyer and seller communications do occur, the Communication DSR will be rated by the buyer."

So, if the buyer emails me after they get their item "Awesome! I Love It!!!" I get no automatic 5* Communications DSR?

Seriously? Make the transaction not good enough for the buyer to commend you on it?

Or no automatic 5-star if they email me during the auction and offer me half of what the item is worth, I ignore them, and then they end up winning it?

Stop feeding the troll. While I agree that when someone prints a label and doesn't drop it off for 5 days is pretty lame....the packing slip thing is out of control. I sell about 500 items a year and never read the notes people put on there. Packing slip? Why waste the paper?

Just another reason sellers need to be able to leave negs or at least neutrals. Buyers holding you over a barrel is a joke. Shocked I only get about 1 (usually unwarranted) neg a year.

RE:

What, only 500.
Maybe if you would provide what should be, you would sell 5,000
Think about it.

BTW, what does it cost to print a packing slip?

If asked, and a ps slip is not provided, what choice does a buyer have to but to neg over the situation.

FVF discount is in effect, I'm getting 5% immediately, which is a surprise to me. I expected them to give me my 5% AFTER each statement like what they do now with TRS discount, but they give it immediately. This is great since essentially they don't verify that you abide by the 1 business day handling rule.

How do you deal with the 14 day return policy in order to get the 20% discount? Is it going to be an open invitation to return abuse?

Mine all say
no returns

I added a restocking fee to maybe scare them off. I'm surprised eBay doesn't just make you do 45 days on returns since that is the effective return period anyway.

Yes, that is one way......
Only once did I have a question on a return
(all items listed as not taking returns)

Buyer said, I know you do not take returns but................
