YES!!!

A Buyer with 582 Feedback (99.3%) and has been with eBay since '99 has purchased an item and paid me to ship to an unconfirmed address in Michigan, USA. He is located in Germany and has a paypal account that is "Non-U.S. - Verified" but I looked through his FeedBack and he has purchased items from the United States before. I assume this is also a scam & that I should refund his payment?

It's not necessarily a scam. Perhaps he is buying a gift to send to an American friend, or something. if your TOS forbade PayPal from international bidders, simply tell him to pay another way. if your TOS forbade international bidders, then you can give him a UID strike automatically and relist (you may get a neg from the bidder, though). if your TOS said no unconfirmed addresses, refund and tell him why. You might ask him to submit payment via some other method, perhaps BidPay.

Here is another case.

Seller ID: AAsupplies
Feedback 177 (100%)
eBay ID TWO months old registered in UK.

This guy recently sold some iPod mini's in UK and bought equal amount of iPod mini's from US eBay sellers. He bought some from me and paid with same Paypal account but with different unconfirmed addresses, by which apparently he's dropshipping to his buyers. But the problem is, he is not making money that way, if not losing money!

I emailed him asking why he was doing all that and he replied those are his friends and he said "I told them the best way to buy them is through eBay to get my feedback up..."

Other than that, he seems to be a legit seller.

Any thoughts?

Could be setting you up for a reversal. Unconfirmed address = he automatically wins an INR complaint.

This is an automatic message, please do not reply
They actually used an image for the text, so I had to retype it. & here's the url it led to: http://218.1.71.226/.../e3b/

The first line just totally gave it away: "re-update your account information" that and I had just recently changed my E-Mail address for eBay & was not supposed to be receiving e-mails from them at that account.

eBay does have a third party do surveys for them. I think Benckmark is the company. You can forward that email with headers to spoof@eBay.com and they will tell you if it's real or fake.

This one is legitimate. PayPal uses it as well. Both will send you this e-mail after you have e-mailed them for customer support.

I don't believe it even asks you to login or for any personal information. The survey questions all deal with customer service.

Maybe, maybe not. Even if it isn't, PayPal on such a large-ticket item to an international buyer is a bad idea. You may end up basically giving the item away of the buyer does an INR complaint. (Go read the PayPal FAQ to learn more). If he does do an INR, then yeah it's a scam.

Red flags in that email:

•Russia
•send to friend
•PayPal

If you really think the buyer may be legit, and the total price is no more than $1K, ask for a BidPay payment. If it's over $1K, then WU or international postal money order would work.

I think we should try to come up with a way to make it not worth their while to try and scam us...lets drive them crazy. I for one have started playing along and stringing them along, until they get frustrated and leave me alone!

Maybe we should start shipped loads of crap to them...

I'm selling a laptop. A long-time USA Fleabayer with a strong 100% feedback rating wants to know if I can overnight the laptop to him. Caveat: His feedback comments are private. Which of these actions is best?

A. Say no.
B. Say no and block him from bidding.

Ignore them. Don't waste time even thinking about them. State in your listing: "Email me with your phone number and a good time to call." Ignore all out-of-towners.
