Hello Everyone!

Just got off the Phone with Paypal to get clarification about whether or not USPS GLOBAL EXPRESS Mail with Tracking is acceptable method of shipment to be covered for Paypal's Seller Protection Policies.

I found in a lot of Topics in this forum were many contradicting statements. I did my research and called Paypal and this is what I got from them:

1) YES! USPS Global Express' On-line tracking is acceptable ( for shipment from the US into Canada ) proof for SPP coverage.

2) For purchases of $250.00 USD and greater: A Signature is required, OR acknowledgement from the Buyer, that the item was received.

Now, you may be asking - If this signature needs to be online. Based on what is written in the Protection Policies - No. You would probably need to FAX or E-mail this proof. The important thing to remember that it needs to be the Customer's Signature, and not " Front Door", " Porch" etc. It is important to know that you need to make sure you choose this ( if it is an option ) , like for UPS GROUND.

But in my experience, when a package arrives USPS Global Express into Canada - it is NEVER left at the door when no one is home. The customer would need to pick it up at their local Canada Post Office and Sign for it; and yes.. the Signature is available online.

3) I found while reading the details page of the Seller's Protection Policies

http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_spp-outside

Topic # 3 , paragraph d ( ii ) - last sentence: "For your convenience, PayPal provides a list of popular and currently approved shippers". I had extensively searched for this list and it was no where to be found.

I was transferred to Customer Care because I was correct.. there was no list provided. Customer care confirmed that USPS Global Express is on the list. He was also supposed to e-mail me with the list of approved Shippers. I am still waiting. WIll post update when received.

So in conclusion for you Sellers willing to ship to CANADA, after you have met the other SPP requirements, you can be assured that USPS Global Express w/Tracking is an acceptable shipping method for Paypal's Seller's Protection Policy.

Thanks for posting this, Jennifer. All reports I had seen indicated that GEM would not work. I'll update the PayPal FAQ with this info shortly.

UPDATE: The e-mail I received from Paypal Customer Care was nothing but a generic one stating facts about Paypal Shipping. Nothing about any list.

Amazing! Even after I confirmed and re-confirmed before hanging up the phone that I will be getting the LIST of Approved US Shippers.

I had just e-mailed them back asking for it again. WIll post update when received.

* Tlaxson: You are welcome! Glad to be of help!

Don't we have enough nuts in US, that we are looking for buyers in Canada.

One easy solution. 48 States, continental US with no POBoxes, APO/FPO

UPDATE: Truly amazing.. Despite repeated e-mails.. I always get some kind of generic e-mail explaining to me what it means to use Paypal shipping. For goodness sake.. all I ask is for the list of Paypal Approved Shippers and they still have not given it to me. Well... that's it.

Yeah, they always do that since they're retarded.
