I use Just Snipe. Its a web-based online sniper website for eBay.
The free version allows 5 free snipes a week. It works good.
If you want more snipes, the pay version isnt too much money.
$5.00 a month for unlimited snipes.
It has a nice interface.

Also, there is Sniping4free. It is based in Germany
and completely free. Unlimited number of snipes are permitted.
The interface isnt quite as nice -- more plain. But it works.

Sniping4free link

I have used both of these and they work well. Both are
recommended.

There's also http://www.auctionstealer.com which I've used a few times in the past without a problem. Like the one above, they have a priority pay service and the standard free service...

JBidWatcher is also a free software. It's written in Java so you can use it on Mac.

www.vrane.com

1 free snipe loaded at any time.

i user hammersnipe.com

good stuff

Thanks everyone! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border=0>

hammersnipe.com looks identical to auctionstealer.com

At the bottom of hammersnipe's webpage it says, " Copyright 2005, AuctionStealer.com, Inc."

Nothing wrong with that though. They just appear to be operated by the same company.

Yep! Works great too.

auctionshiper.com

Its been solid for me for along time

auctionsniper.com

whoops

Auction sniper isnt free, except for a free trial for new accounts.

" New users are not charged for the first three auctions they win using Auction Sniper. Thereafter, we charge only 1% of the final auction price with a minimum fee of US$0.25 and a maximum fee of US$9.95 for only the auctions that you win."

But glad you like it.

justsnipe works for me

There used to be an excellent sniper software package available...for free..that would snipe for you even when your computer was turned off. I can't find it anywhere any longer. If someone has it, let me know.

Is it safe to give out username/pw to these sites?

If you are using sniper software, and the folks you are bidding against are using sniper software, who would be victorious?

whoever sets the highest bid, Or whoever set lowest bidsnip time wieh highest bid

OK, here are the list of FREE sniping webpages I know and use (all the others as backup for my main one...)

- eSteal UNLIMITED FREE snipes, simple format, in groups and one-by-one...

- Sniperville UNLIMITED FREE snipes, simple format, in groups and one-by-one, special setting (WinOS Registry-based) for sniping directly from the auction page...

- Vrane 1 FREE SNIPE at a time (auction has to expire or snipe be cancelled to get another one...), otherwise FOR-FEE (these get many more options)...

- Just Snipe 5 FREE SNIPES / WEEK, otherwise FOR-FEE (these get many more options)...

These services (with the exception of Sniperville's button, which is optional...) all these services are NOT OS-dependant, doesn't require downloads and will work if your computer or the Net connection is OUT, something software snipe solutions can't offer (you have to have the computer on which the software is installed connected to the 'Net at the moment the snipe is executed...). None of these would work on Yahoo!, Amazon, UBID or the other competitors (wonder if there's ANY service that would work on those?).

Awesome thread. Thanks everybody.

this thread is great. Ironically, the OP's question has been posted in the online auctions forums many times, but the "experts" over there didn't have too many answers to give out

There was an article in a Detroit newspaper about eBay sniper software some time ago. It claimed that 10 percent of all winning bids on eBay use sniper software. Dont know how accurate that is or if it is just someone's guess.
It appears most bidders on eBay dont use snipping programs though.

There is some risk. Someone could hack into one of these websites and take your login info. Or an employee could take them. You can change your password periodically if your concerned. Life is not without risk.

Can I use esteal with a mac?

Its a website, so you can use it with a Mac. Or any operating system.
All of these you can use with a Mac. If you can use FW website you can use esteal.

Just log on and see if its what your looking for.

Take a look at this and tell me if that seems odd??

I am specifically talking about the fact that a biggggg majority of buyers who have dealt with this seller are no longer registered members??? WTF, is there something wrong with the eBay systems or is something going on here?

Shahhere

bidnapper.com has been my chosen eBay sniping program for almost 5 years.

Never let me down.

Some great suggestions. Thank you!

I was gonna sign up for eSteal, but then I saw that the sign up page where your eBay password needs to go doesn't have SSL security. Beware...

Ended up going with JustSnipe.

thanks!
